Andrea Martin has been with Home Instead Senior Care since January 2009. She has been working in the senior care industry for almost 10 years. She grew up in Tuscaloosa and went to the University of Alabama and graduated in 2006. While at Alabama she met her husband Will Martin. They were married in May 2007. When Andrea is not working, she loves spending time with her daughter Olivia, her twins, Harper & William, going to the beach and lake, cooking and baking!
Katie Cochran has been with Home Instead Senior Care since February 2010 as Director of Marketing and Sales. She has been working in the medical geriatric community for over 13 years. She grew up in Florence, Alabama and moved to Birmingham after graduating from the University of North Alabama. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her dogs and spending time at the lake or beach. Most importantly she loves hanging out with her niece and nephews. Katie just recently met the requirements to become a Certified Readmission Prevention Professional, as recognized by the National Readmission Prevention Collaborative.
Jeanelle Huggins has been with Home Instead Senior Care since March 2006, first as staffing coordinator and then as the Director of Client Services & Staffing. She grew up in the Atlanta area, but she decided to stay in Birmingham after graduating from Samford University in 1996. Jeanelle loves being an aunt. She has 8 nieces and nephews whom she enjoys visiting and spoiling. She loves singing in her church choir and spending time with family and friends. When not at work, she enjoys reading, eating chocolate (she eats that at work too), playing with her dog, and being a respite foster mom to babies through a local non-profit agency.
Jill Ballinger has been with Home Instead Senior Care since January 2005. She started out as the receptionist and is now working in Human Resources. Her and her husband Chad have been happily married for 8 years. Jill has two little boys, Jackson and Camden, and a little girl named Brooklyn. When she is not working, Jill enjoys going to the movies with her husband, and spending time with her children.
Dot has been employed by Home Instead Senior Care since 2005, working in various capacities. She grew up in Florence, Alabama and graduated with a degree in Public Relations from The University of Alabama. She has been employed in the Birmingham area since 1980. Dot and her husband, Jim, have two children. She enjoys spending time with her kids who are way too grown-up as well as activities that promote fitness and health.
Charlotte Fisher has been with Home Instead Senior Care since May 2005 as Receptionist. She lives in the Homewood area and was educated in Birmingham. She has been married for over 30 years and has three children and five grandchildren, which includes a set of twins (Darnecia and Darnell). She enjoys Bible reading and collecting Bible History, concerts, and old movies. Years of working with people has been a true joy for Charlotte. Soon after becoming a part of the Home Instead Senior Care family, Mrs. Fisher received the PEOPLE's Award!
Jay Jones joined the Home Instead staff in February of 2013. With almost 30 years of healthcare experience including 20 years of physical rehabilitation, he has been active in new business development for numerous national companies. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, he is very active in the Episcopal Church and Cursillo in Alabama. He is married to Kathryn Jones, an artist who creates religious greeting cards and water color prints. Jay just recently met the requirements to become a Certified Readmission Prevention Professional, as recognized by the National Readmission Prevention Collaborative.
Michelle Eastham joined Home Instead in 2012 She moved to Alabama in 2001 with her husband Darby, and our twin sons Logan and Andrew. Michelle has worked in Home Health, Pediatrics, and trauma and now enjoys helping elderly and their families with their new transition of life. Michelle enjoys being with her family, friends and church family. She loves to do mission work here in the U.S and abroad.
Bootsie joined Home Instead in January 2014. She is the Receptionist in the morning and does our Insurance Billing in the afternoon. She was born and raised in Orange County, California. She attended the University of Southern California and worked for over 42 years in the Nursing and Staffing Field. She was married and had a son, who along with her husband are deceased. She works with the Sick and Shut in Ministry and The Love in Action Ministry at Shades Mountain Baptist Church on Saturdays. When she is not working, she loves to cook and travel all over the world. She has one dog, a 2 lb. Yorkie Teacup named, Favor and a White Russian Turtle named Mr. Turtle. Her favorite quotes are "GOD is not finished with me yet." and "So bear with this old lady, Okay!!!".
Matthew has been with Home Instead since 2009, first as on-call staffing coordinator and now he is the on-site staffing coordinator team. Matthew has three children that keep him busy. His oldest son is in an officer in the Army. His other two children are both in school. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys volunteering for Habitat for Humanity of Birmingham.
Susie has been with Home Instead Senior Care since December 2014 as a part-time Client Service Coordinator. She spends her time with new clients, doing quality assurance visits, and some dementia training with new CAREGivers. She was a hospice nurse for 12 year and feels that experience has given her a heart for working with seniors. She is married to an internist and they have two children. Her sons each have a child, so their favorite thing is spoiling grandchildren. Susie is a Parish Nurse at FBC Pell City, and is always looking for volunteers to join her medical mission trips to Africa.
After serving in the military for eight years she returned to Birmingham to work in the Workman's Comp field. She came to work as our On-Call Staffing Coordinator in July 2015. In October of 2017 Kelly was hired as a full-time Staffing Coordinator. She enjoy spending time with my family, including my two nieces, volunteering with the Shelby County Humane Society and back country hiking.
Melanie Martin has been with Home Instead Senior Care since November 2016. Melanie was born in raised in Birmingham Alabama and graduated from Florida State University where she was a member of the Florida State University Flying High Circus. After flying on the trapeze and walking the tight rope, she worked in her family business for over 15 years and then transitioned in to the hospitality industry before joining us at Home Instead. Melanie spends the majority of her time outside of the office with family and friends and raising her two children, Hayden and Aly who are her pride and joy.
Burdette Payne joined Home Instead Senior Care in July 2017 as Service Inquiry Specialist. He grew up in Akron, Alabama, and graduated from The University of Alabama. Before joining Home Instead, Burdette spent over 30 years in health care management, as the business manager of a medical clinic. In his free time, he enjoys movies, attending the theatre, and cooking for family and friends.
Allison was hired in October 2006 in the Marketing Department. After about a year she moved into the role of the Operations Manager. After her second child was born she decided to move herself out of that role in order to work from home, managing the website, social media and blog. Since her girls are older now, she is back working in the office part time, along with coordinating Be a Santa to a Senior every year. Allison loves spending time with her family and friends, sewing, camping (in a camper), hiking, and watching Auburn sports.
Coretha Smith joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2009 as a Staffing Coordinator. She resigned in 2011 to further her education where she attended Faulkner University and obtained her graduate degree, Masters of Science in Management in 2012. In August 2015, she rejoined our team as Oncall Staffing Coordinator. Coretha has two beautiful daughters, Destinee and Renardia. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and vacationing at the beach.
H.I. is the in house training expert for Home Instead Senior Care. H.I. has given his life to helping our CAREGiver's learn by "hands on" training! His is definitely an expert in what he does. He is always the first person at the office in the morning and the last to leave--begging the question "does he ever go home?" When he does leave the office, H.I. loves to ride around in one of the Home Instead cars, loves spending time at the beach and finding new accessories to make himself look a little less pale.
