Home Instead is Hiring

Dedicated care professionals build meaningful relationships and often find rewarding jobs with opportunities for advancement, and the positions are a strong building block for those interested in a career in healthcare.

Alzheimer’s and Brain Health

Alzheimer’s disease affects nearly 7 million people in the U.S. and Canada, and the number could double by 2050. About 12 million North Americans are providing unpaid care for loved ones with dementia. The need to better understand the disease and support family caregivers will grow with each diagnosis. Motivating people to prioritize self-care can help reduce their personal risk and defend against Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Nutrition and the Companionship Diet

When it comes to meeting their nutritional needs, older adults can face tough challenges such as reduced appetite, limited mobility, and digestive issues. Older adults tend to have better nutrition intake when they share meals with others. With decades of experience to draw from, Home Instead offers tips and resources to help promote better nutrition as we age.

Sandwich Generation

Many sandwich generation family caregivers have had to make financial or career sacrifices in order to maintain their caregiving responsibilities, and they don’t know where to turn for help. A Home Instead care professional can help alleviate some of the stress by taking on many of the day-to-day responsibilities so adult sons and daughters can enjoy the time they are able to spend with aging parents or in-laws.

Be A Santa To A Senior

Be a Santa to a Senior provides gifts to older adults in need. Home Instead partners with local non-profit and community organizations to identify seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season.

Unretire Yourself

UnRetire Yourself provides tips and resources to help works think about how to make the most of their post-retirement years.

Aging Senses

Imagine what it would be like if you could no longer see well enough to drive a car or hear your loved one's voice from across the room. Sensory loss is very common among older adults yet recognizing and understanding the debilitating impact of sensory loss for an older loved one can be difficult, even for family caregivers.

Home Your Own Way

Regardless of whether an older adult chooses to stay in their current home or relocate to a new one, aging in place remains a top request to maintain the freedom and independence that comes from defining what "home" means to them.

Pets and Seniors

It's common for older adults to experience feelings of loneliness and isolation as they age, however many find that pets can provide the companionship and love they desire - reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Elderoscopy

As older adults are reconnecting with their communities, including addressing those overdue medical check-ups, aging experts are encouraging they add another “probing” exam to their to-list: the Elderoscopy.
