If you love getting creative and are looking for something to keep you busy each month, Home Instead has found a local event you’re going to love. We are spotlighting this monthly event because there is no need to worry about buying supplies or being a master artist. You can just join in the fun!
Community Craft Night is held every third Saturday of the month at 5:30pm, at The Syd Blackmarr Arts Center, 255 Love Ave. They welcome all skill levels to enjoy the simple joy of making something by hand. For just $10, or a donation of art supplies of equivalent value, the council provides all the basic materials you need, along with light refreshments. If you choose to pay with a supply donation, the council asks that items be in good condition and selected from their current needs:
- Canvases, paint, and paint brushes
- Markers, colored pencils, and pens
- Scrapbook supplies like stickers, stamps, and cardstock
- Fabric and sewing supplies
- Artificial flowers and greenery
- Air dry clay and sculpting tools
- Mod Podge, washi tape, and double-sided tape
- Jewelry making supplies including beads and string
