The phrase “woman for all seasons” describes someone who is highly adaptable, versatile and successful in many different roles and skills while possessing high energy. That description aptly fits Christine Allen Newcoste, a Home Instead® Care Professional of the Month at owner Greg Gomez-Mira’s award-winning Home Instead that serves south-central Houston.
Christine’s roots are in caregiving, having been a healthcare provider since 1998. She has owned three personal-care homes, having managed them for five years. Christine also has served in hospice care for five years. In addition, she has a food service, which is a food truck called “grandbabiez.” Christine has been involved in other ventures, all people-oriented.
Home Instead General Manager Destiny Wesley, with knowledge of Christine’s background, suggested a Care Pro job to fill any extra hours that she might have available, and Christine decided to give it a shot. She joined Home Instead in March 2026 because of its flexible scheduling and her overwhelming desire to skillfully provide one-on-one care to seniors. Those things are in her wheelhouse.
“I am a multitasking person who wears quite a few hats, but my most passionate and loving profession is caring for people, especially those who need my help. I started in the care profession because I love taking care of the elderly,” Christine explained. “I took care of my parents in their last years. They were strong people, but they allowed me to love on them. They have passed on, but I thank God for the experience I previously had accumulated that helped me take care of them. I understood their needs.”
In five short months with Home Instead, Christine has consistently stood out as an outstanding employee, one who displays Home Instead’s guiding principles of “Build Trust, Take the Lead and Share Your Heart.” Christine not only assists her clients, but she helps their families eliminate worry, reduce stress and re-establish personal freedom. She said: “The clients’ families are beautiful, loving and helpful.”
Christine added: “With my Home Instead clients, I have found there is something unique with each one of them. I think all my clients have taught me more since I’ve been working with them than I knew when I started. Their histories, which they shared with me, are great ways to begin to understand how to take care of them. Life is all about relationships, compassion and empathy. I couldn’t have asked for a better job than working as a Home Instead Care Pro. The clients are all wonderful and are truly God’s blessing to me.”
Praising the Home Instead staff, Christine pointed out: “I like working with Home Instead because the people are wonderful, kind, caring and most helpful. I don’t know how they do it, but they always manage to accommodate me with the exact scheduling I need. I’ve never been on a job that was so accommodating. I didn’t expect this Care Pro of the Month honor, and I appreciate it. I love my co-workers and staff.”
Greg’s franchise is elevating in-home care for older adults in south-central Houston, including Bellaire, Missouri City and Sugar Land, and Christine is an important part of the Care Pro team at the Houston franchise, a member of a network comprised of Home Instead, Inc. and its parent company, Honor.
