Assistant Controller

Job Details

The Assistant Controller position is responsible for the daily accounting operations of the company, to include the maintenance of accurate accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

 

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

  • Assist the Controller in overseeing all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of Home Instead Senior Care, ensuring healthy financial management across the organization
  • Manage and minimize the company’s financial risk exposure by maintaining systems of internal controls
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Process payroll in a timely manner and in such a way to ensure employees are paid accurately
  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and all reasonable discounts are taken; comply with 1099 reporting requirements
  • Manage the company’s benefits package for all employees, including eligibility determination, enrollment, reporting, and compliance with ACA & 401(k) regulations
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Participate in the office on-call rotation

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration

CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE / Client Care Assistant

Job Details

We have a rewarding position on our team for an experienced and dedicated Client Care Assistant who will be working as our daytime CNA CAREGiver .

In this unique role, you will be our "save the day" field representative from 7am to 7pm, performing CAREGiving duties for clients as needed. Your day will consist of filling in and helping cover shifts that are open due to last minute call offs from CAREGivers. Some days  will be busy and will require your help for several clients and other days will be more steady.  This role is vital to the organization to ensure our clients always have someone to care for them.  You don't have to worry about using gas or putting wear and tear on your vehicle  because you will be utilizing the company car during working hours.

On the days we don't have many needs for coverage in the field, you will still get your hours by coming into the office to help the internal staff with administrative duties at from 8 am to 5 pm.  

Currently we have 1 spot open for the Client Care Associate. Your hours include availabilty Monday - Wednesday from 7am to 7pm, and Saturdays on-call 7am to 7am Sunday.  
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (7am- 7pm), & Saturday 7am  -Sunday 7am on-call

 Qualifications:
  • CNA for the state of Kentucky ( in good standing)
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Reliable transportation, drivers license, and car insurance
  • Ok in homes with cats, dogs, and smoker

Position Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide leadership for CAREGivers in the field by being a training resource and taking charge in difficult situations.
  • Have and maintain an active CNA license that remains in good standing with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • Be exceptionally skilled at performing the services we provide to our clients: assistance with personal care, assistance with ADL's, incontinence care, etc.
  • Be self-directed and stay busy.
  • Have the ability to start a shift as early as 7am and stay as late as 7pm. This means you must answer your phone starting at 6am, ensuring you can arrive to any shift by 7am. You should plan as though you will be working a 12-hour shift since you could be asked to work from 7am-7pm.  At a minimum, you will work from 8am to 5pm performing administrative duties in the office.
  • Be willing and able to work with all clients served by Home Instead and able to perform all functions required of a CNA.
  • While at the office, support all departments as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with all departments, office staff, CAREGivers and clients in a prompt manner.
  • Must be able to work in client(s) home may contain cigarette smoke
  • Must be able work in client home that has cat and/or dog.
 
Please note, that this role requires you to have your CNA license.  We highly encourage newly certified, or pending certifications.  Be willing to stay very busy throughout the day and support our goal of helping the team and most importantly our clients.

Job Skills/Requirements
Our Human Resources Manager must have the skills and strengths in building a strong team and supporting a large number of employees. The right candidate will be able to successfully run our Human Resources department as well as have a hand in the strategic development of the company. Must be eager to work in a fast-paced and service-oriented environment. Must have at least 4 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and a proven track record of success. 

The right candidate will be a jack-of-all trades when it comes to HR: mastered workers compensation and unemployment claims processes, be responsible for ensuring the recruitment of qualified CAREGivers available in the market, participate in and conduct disciplinary action, maintain necessary data and reports to show trends and progress towards HR goals, design and implement retention/recruitment policies, processes and programs for CAREGivers and office staff, design, gain approval, and implement policy changes, act as consultant for other departments with projects as assigned, accept other duties and projects based on business need.
 

Requirements:

Four year degree
Four years HR Experience
PHR or SPHR preferred.

Additional Information/Benefits
Each of our staff in the office must be willing to work one-on-one with our senior clients. This may include assistance with personal care (training offered). In addition every staff member must participate in an on-call rotation.
