A Do-It-Yourself Dad
I don't remember Mom and Dad ever hiring a handyman, or plumber or electrician. It seemed like Dad could do anything. Car repairs? No mechanic needed. If there was anything my father couldn't figure out on his own, he called up his brothers. While the uncles huddled under the hood of the Chevy, sharing stories and Buckeye Beer, I received equal parts teaching and teasing, as I learned to change spark plugs.
There's No Place as Sweet as Home
My albums are filled with photo memories of vacations at Lake Erie Islands, Dad with a string of walleyes on the Sandusky River, Mom in her Ohio State sweatshirt and we kids at the Canfield Fair. But we all agree our favorite memories took place right at home -- family dinners on Sundays and then gathering around the TV for Browns football.
Dealing with Change
We've all moved away and Dad's brothers are gone now. And since Mom died last year, we've all been worried about Dad. He wants to stay in the house with all the wonderful memories, but our do-it-yourselfer needs some assistance himself. He seems forgetful lately, and we're not sure he's eating right. He's been such a giving person. How can we get him
the care he deserves so he can stay at home?
Help Him Stay Independent with Home Instead Senior Care®
When family members or friends aren't able to help the older adults they love, Home Instead CAREGivers
SM can. With a network of
locations across Ohio, and worldwide, Home Instead Senior Care is all about taking care of older family members long-term in the homes they've enjoyed and treasured. We provide a

Inspired by a Personal Experience
It was Paul and Lori Hogan's own personal experience caring for their 100-year-old grandmother in her home that inspired them to launch Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. They realized many families had the same need for non-medical in-home care and elder companionship that could help seniors live independently at home. The demand for these important services has been so great, that the company's network now has 800 locally owned franchises across North America and around the globe.

Home Instead Senior Care services are available 24/7, every day of the year, including holidays, and are delivered by trusted CAREGivers who are screened, bonded and insured employees--never independent contractors.
