Training & Development Coordinator

Home Instead, a leading non-medical home care company, is now hiring a full-time Training & Development Coordinator to work out of our Gahanna office. We're looking for someone with a passion for helping others and the desire to expand the skill set of our Care Professionals--allowing them to enhance the lives of local seniors and their families. This critical role will execute all training, orientation and development programs for our Care Professionals including creating original training content to assure our Care Pros are well equipped to meet our clients' needs. This is a full-time (30-40 hours per week) position that offers competitive pay, benefits, paid time off, a 401K with matching and more. Compensation is $22.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the values of Rivendell LLC & Mithlond LLC (d.b.a. independently owned and operated Home Instead franchises), ensuring Home Instead standards are met
  • Schedule and conduct regular, on-going Care Professional training classes in support of internal development goals
  • Assist Care Pros with care and technology challenges
  • Assist Care Pros at client residences as needed and provide 1:1 training support
  • Assure all Care Pros receive accurate and timely pay for training
  • Conduct regularly scheduled new hire training and orientation classes including Alzheimer’s training
  • Evaluate and update all orientation and training materials as needed

Educational and Other Requirements:
• High school graduation or the equivalent required; Associates or bachelors degree preferred

• One year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and additional work experience may be considered
• Professional training experience preferred, caregiving experience a big plus
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and pass a background check

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by Rivendell LLC & Mithlond LLC (d.b.a. independently owned and operated Home Instead franchises)

• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to listen effectively and have excellent presentation/public speaking skills

• Able to work independently, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines

• Effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making

• Demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with office standards, practices, policies and procedures

• Able to organize and prioritize daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly work

• Able to establish good working relationships with Management, office colleagues, Care Professionals and the Community

• Present a professional appearance and demeanor

• Able to operate basic office equipment and possess sound computer and keyboarding skills including proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point

• Able to work occasional evenings or weekends as required

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
