Caring for Others Makes Savannah’s Heart ‘Pure and Happy’
Since her high school days, Savannah Trevino had dreamed of taking care of her grandparents. Savannah’s fervent wish to help them is emblematic of her God-given compassion and empathy, qualities that have been evident since she was a young girl.
“I was given the gift of a heart to care for others,” Savannah said. “I have wanted to assist my grandparents once they got old because they always took care of me. I started this career journey with a special focus on my grandparents. They are never far from my thoughts.”
With that kind of motivation to help seniors, it’s no surprise that Savannah has been working in home care for the past 14 years, including nearly the past 12 months with Home Instead® of San Angelo, Texas, where she was honored as the franchise’s Care Professional of the Month for October 2025.
Seniors haven’t been the only recipients of Savannah’s care. In high school, she served as a student aide to a special education teacher. Savannah also was a Special Olympics volunteer during her high school days.
“Recently, I lost my grandmother, but I still get to be there for my grandfather. When I started with Home Instead, the office staff granted my wish of being able to care for them both until they take their last breath,” said Savannah, who has tirelessly pulled double duty – a labor of love – as a family caregiver and a preferred Home Instead Care Pro.
Home Instead Engagement and Training Coordinator Rozephyr Jean announced Savannah’s honor while praising her efforts. “Savannah consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty with compassion, reliability and a genuine heart for caregiving,” Rozephyr said. “Her clients and Care Pro teammates alike admire her warm spirit, professionalism and dedication to making a positive impact every day.”

Savannah described her job fulfillment: “I love my job because I’m able to take care of others who can no longer take care of themselves. I like to give my compassion and kindness to those people who need it. I find joy in making others comfortable and happy in their own homes.”
She added: “I also enjoy the fact that my clients love me and appreciate that I’m there for them, but they have no clue that taking care of them is what makes my heart pure and happy. I want to thank everyone on the Home Instead staff for giving me this chance to take care of our company’s clients. This is an important point in my life because I look forward to being able to be there for these precious seniors as I would my own family.”
