Clients’ Memories, Quips Intrigue Honoree Triena
Home Instead® Care Professional of the Month Triena Wilson is mesmerized by many of her clients, who reveal tried-and-true words of wisdom, favorite memories that might span 70 or 80 years and even dreams. “My favorite client story took place in my client’s kitchen, where we were cooking dinner together. While she was telling me about her previous night’s dream, it was as if I were there in her dream because it was so detailed,” Triena recalled.
Triena, who joined Home Instead of San Angelo, Texas, earlier this year, added: “While I love taking care of my clients, my favorite part is listening to what’s on my clients’ minds and their stories. It’s something I don’t think you can put a price on. Also, the ladies in our Home Instead office make me feel as if I’m seen. They’re so sweet and understanding.”
Engagement and Training Coordinator Rozephyr Jean announced Triena’s honor as the San Angelo franchise’s July Care Pro of the Month and explained why Triena was selected.
“Triena consistently goes above and beyond, stepping up without hesitation to cover last-minute shifts – no matter the length,” Rozephyr explained. “Triena’s dedication, reliability and exceptional communication ensure our clients receive the highest quality care.”
Rozephyr added: “Triena has recently received glowing compliments from multiple clients who have praised her kindness, professionalism, compassion and the thorough way she completes all care tasks. Her joyful spirit and positive energy brighten the days of both her clients and our office staff every time she visits.”
Triena heard about Home Instead through a trusted source. “I found Home Instead via a co-worker at a previous job who said she loved Home Instead, so I wanted to also work for a company that cared so much about its staff.”
Triena found her niche early, having worked in caregiving since she was 16. “I went between part time and full time in caregiving while also holding a second job,” Triena said. “I started this journey by providing care to my mother’s best friend. She was an older woman who was experiencing a generalized weakness, so I assisted her by providing meal preparation, light housekeeping and some personal care, including shower assists.”
Triena added: “I feel as if I learned a lot from her storytelling and listening to her younger-era music. She actually taught me how to cook some dishes from her culture.”
