Kayla: ‘I Truly Believe God Led Me to Home Instead’

During Kayla Page’s search for a meaningful job, she found Home Instead® of San Angelo, Texas, as the final weeks of 2025 melted into the New Year. It wasn’t a stroke of serendipity or a simple case of “dumb luck.” Kayla pointed out: “I truly believe God led me to Home Instead.” In addition to an immediate feeling of fulfillment, Kayla was honored as a Care Professional of the Month at the award-winning Home Instead franchise owned by Lorena and William Shensky.

“I haven’t always come across great things in life,” Kayla explained, “but taking care of someone when they need support always came so easy to me. I truly enjoy everything about it. Before applying at Home Instead, I was a stay-at-home mom. Before that, I was a cleaning lady for many years. I always felt I needed something more. I found Home Instead online while looking for caregiving jobs. I researched the company and read the reviews, which were great.”

Kayla added: “While I have been with Home Instead for only three months, it does feel as if I’ve been here longer. My bosses and co-workers make it amazing to work for this company. They help with everything that’s needed. They are already building such friendly, strong connections with everyone. I truly feel like family.”

Engagement and Training Coordinator Rozephyr Jean said: “We are proud to recognize Kayla as our February Care Pro of the Month. In the short time Kayla has been with Home Instead, she has made a powerful impact through her heart, kindness, compassion and genuine willingness to learn. Kayla has eagerly taken on several regular clients, consistently picks up extra shifts and regularly attends training sessions.”

Rozephyr also noted: “Kayla stands out for her proactive, anticipatory approach – asking questions, seeking guidance and working to handle situations thoughtfully and effectively before challenges arise. Her communication with the office is timely and intentional, and she truly seeks to understand how to provide the best possible care.”

Kayla arrives every day with a positive attitude, Rozephyr said, and gives her all to her clients. “While her tenure with us has been only a few months,” Rozephyr said, “she has already gone above and beyond the call of duty for both her clients and our team. Thank you, Kayla, for your dedication, professionalism and compassionate spirit. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Home Instead family!”

“Family” is a familiar word for Kayla, who was a natural family caregiver when the need arose. “I ended up taking care of my grandparents for a couple of years when I realized caregiving was what I was truly passionate about,” Kayla said. “I am taking care of my mother because of unexpected health problems.”

Taking a deeper dive into the “how” and “why” she is so successful, Kayla said: “The best part of being a Care Pro is feeling fulfillment in my heart from taking care of God’s people when they are unable to do so on their own. Knowing I can make others feel safe, loved and appreciated means so much to me.”

Kayla is in the process of making memories as a Care Professional. “One of my favorite Home Instead stories comes from a client who talked about growing up when her family was going through the tough times of World War II. She explained how they overcame it all. Listening as she told her story at age 90 was simply so amazing. It reinforces to me how truly strong she is and how encouraging she makes me feel without her knowing it. Her story is a good reminder of how blessed we all are,” Kayla explained.
