Erica Goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty for Her Clients

Care Professional of the Month Erica Mosqueda is thankful for her employer, Home Instead® of Midland-Odessa, Texas, an award-winning in-home senior-care franchise owned by Lorena and William Shensky. “I love working with this company because they gave me the opportunity to do something for which I am passionate,” said Erica, who was honored as the Permian Basin franchise’s Care Pro of the Month for August.

Erica added: “I really love my job. I try to do more for my clients than what is expected, going above and beyond the call of duty for them and their families. I give my best to dedicate my time to their needs. I love helping others. In this profession, I have that opportunity.”

Home Instead Recruitment and Engagement Advisor Rozephyr Jean said: “Erica consistently exemplifies reliability, professionalism and compassion in her role as a Care Pro. She is dependable, rarely misses work and is always willing to step in and pick up additional shifts when needed. Erica takes the initiative in managing her schedule and timekeeping responsibilities. She demonstrates a strong sense of accountability.”

Rozephyr detailed more evidence of Erica’s professionalism: “She maintains excellent communication with the office, promptly reporting changes in client conditions. By doing so, she helps ensure each client receives the highest quality of care. Her patience, kindness and genuine dedication to those she serves make a meaningful difference every day.”

Erica focuses on Home Instead’s training, processes and procedures of successful caregiving, which helped her achieve Care Pro of the Month status. Rozephyr pointed out: “Erica is committed to personal and professional growth by regularly participating in training opportunities to enhance her skills and better support her clients.”

To build on their knowledge and experience, Midland-Odessa’s Care Pros are offered the opportunity to increase their dementia-care skills by taking part in the Home Instead network’s one-of-a-kind training protocol. Home Instead’s Person-Centered Care Training for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association® for incorporating the evidence-based dementia-care practice recommendations in these topic areas: Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.

Rozephyr noted: “Erica is an important part of our Care Pro team. We are incredibly grateful for Erica’s dedication to our clients, our team and our mission. Thank you, Erica for all you do.”

The Midland-Odessa franchise is a member of a network comprised of Home Instead, Inc. and its parent company, Honor.
