Client’s Face Lights Up When Honored Care Pro Lori Arrives

Lori Daniels is a memorable Care Professional of the Month at the award-winning Home Instead® franchise in Midland, Texas.

Lori assists a client who has a traumatic brain injury (TBI) with memory loss. “As I continue to see him,” Lori explained, “he recognizes me. He has begun to open up more and more. He has begun to share things about his life with me. And he even jokes with me.”

She added: “He knows when he sees me, we are going somewhere. His face lights up!”

How can you not get emotional when you observe the strides Lori has made with her client? Absolutely yes, without a doubt, said Rozephyr Jean, who serves as the engagement and training advisor for Home Instead co-owners Lorena and William Shensky, who always celebrate the countless unique success stories among their Care Pros and their clients and family members.

Speaking on behalf of Lorena and William, Rozephyr said: “Lori’s dedication, professionalism and compassionate spirit truly reflect who she is. We are proud to recognize Lori as our Care Pro of the Month for April! She consistently goes above and beyond expectations for her clients.”

Rozephyr added: “One client, in particular, eagerly anticipates Lori’s arrival each day, excited for the time they will spend together. Lori receives outstanding feedback from every client, many of whom request her for all their shifts. We are so grateful to have her as part of the Home Instead Midland family!”

Lori explained: “Helping people who can’t always do for themselves is rewarding. It’s important to let them know it’s OK to need help. We all do sometimes. I like when they are happy to see me and are appreciative of the help.”

Lori joined Home Instead in December 2025. “I found Home Instead on Indeed.com. As I went through the interview and training processes, everyone was kind and welcoming,” said Lori, who was a bookkeeper for many years. “After being laid off because of COVID, a friend suggested I try professional caregiving. I liked it and decided to continue. The only family caregiving experience I had was watching my mom take care of my stepdad who battled ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). I now help my mom and dad.”

Lori loves being a part of the Care Pro team for one of West Texas’ outstanding Home Instead franchises, a member of the world’s largest home-care network and the most advanced care platform. Overall, there are more than 100,000 Care Pros across 13 countries, meeting the growing needs of millions of older adults and their families worldwide. For Lori and her fellow Care Pros, touching lives impacts their souls, whether they are providing physical help such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders or personal care or if they are offering emotional support in a companionship role.
