Home Care Services FAQs

It depends on what the person actually needs. One client might have a Care Pro come three days a week specifically to help with showering. Another may need a morning visit to get ready for the day, while someone else needs assistance with their evening routine before bed.

Home Instead Warwick builds care around those individual routines rather than assuming every client needs the same schedule. Support can also change over time as the person’s needs change.

Most of our approximately 150 Care Pros are CNAs. Becoming a CNA requires 120 hours of initial training, followed by 24 hours of continuing education every two years.

Home Instead also operates its own CNA school locally. Our clinical experience extends to the leadership team as well—we have three nurses on staff, and our Client Care Manager is our Director of Nursing.

Yes. Transportation is a common need among the older adults we support in Warwick and surrounding Rhode Island communities.

A Care Pro can provide transportation to medical appointments, shopping, the park, or other outings included in the care plan. A visit can also combine transportation with other support, such as helping someone get ready before an appointment or assisting them when they return home.

Yes. Parkinson’s is one of the common conditions we encounter among local clients. Our Care Pros can provide non-medical support based on what the individual needs help doing at home and in the community.

Home Instead also supports the APDA Rhode Island Chapter, and our owner currently serves as Treasurer on the chapter’s Board.

Our team works with Encompass Rehab Hospital and Briarcliffe Manor in connection with personal care needs.

When an older adult needs additional assistance at home, we can build a care schedule around those needs. Our ability to typically begin care within 24 hours can also be useful when a family has limited time to arrange support.

That’s common. Home care doesn’t have to mean someone is there all day.

Some clients need shower assistance three days a week. Others need a morning Care Pro visit to get their day started or assistance with their evening routine before bed.

Our Warwick team can build the schedule around the times when support is actually useful and adjust it if those needs change.

Cost depends on the services needed, how frequently care is scheduled, and the amount of support provided. Someone needing shower assistance several times a week will have a different care plan from someone needing daily or around-the-clock support.

We’ll review the needs and schedule with your family before care begins. For additional information about factors that affect home care pricing, visit our Cost of Care resource.
