We are family run and have been part of the Millburn community for over 30 years. Owner Evelyn brings more than 40 years of geriatric care experience, including a decade as a social worker in the Jewish nonprofit world before opening our Home Instead office 27 years ago. Director of Nursing Katherine has over 20 years of nursing experience and leads our Care Pro development program. Together, our leadership team carries more than 75 years of combined experience in healthcare and home care.

That history shapes everything from how we train our Care Pros to how we respond to a family in crisis. We are not a franchise location that staffs a call center — we are neighbors who know this community.

Dementia care is what our community and referral partners know us for. Many of our Care Pros are dually certified as CHHAs and Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDPs) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) — a nationally recognized certification requiring 150 hours of advanced training. Our CDP program is funded by a Department of Labor grant, which is what makes this level of specialized training possible at the scale we offer.

In practice, CDP-trained Care Pros are equipped to take a person-centered approach — reading nonverbal cues, anticipating unmet needs before they escalate, and maintaining dignity through even the most challenging moments. When a client with severe dementia was expressing increasing agitation, a Care Pro brought a cupcake and a candle on her birthday. The music of 'Happy Birthday' lit her up — from that day, the Care Pro built joy into every visit, and the agitation eased.

Owner Evelyn's career began in the Jewish nonprofit sector, working for over a decade as a geriatric social worker before opening our Home Instead branch 27 years ago. That background gives us insight into the community we serve that a corporate operator simply cannot replicate.

Director of Nursing Katherine has more than 20 years of nursing experience and is dedicated to developing our Care Pro team and maintaining the standard of client-focused care that families in Millburn have come to expect.

Care Pro Elizabeth, originally from Africa, joined us six years ago and has earned dual certification as a CHHA and CDP through our training program. She has a way of putting even the most anxious clients at ease — and, unlike most home health aides in New Jersey, she receives benefits including a 401(k), health, vision and dental insurance, and earns nearly double the average professional caregiver income in NJ. We believe in investing in the people who invest in our clients.

We can start care the same day when staffing is available. Our on-call team and flexible Care Pro scheduling allow us to respond quickly for urgent situations, including overnight support after a hospital discharge — one of the most common needs we see in Millburn.

When a client was discharged with a 'hospital from home' program for pneumonia and had no family available to provide the required support, we arranged around-the-clock care within 24 hours so he could safely receive treatment at home.

We hold Best of Home Care designations as both Employer of Choice and Provider of Choice for 2026. We are also accredited through the Better Business Bureau and the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation (NIHCA).

We sponsor local events through Explore MSH and the Millburn Chamber of Commerce. We also facilitate the Virtual Dementia Tour for community partners — a training program that simulates the experience of living with dementia, giving participants invaluable insight into what their clients and loved ones experience.

We sponsor lectures for older adults at the JCC and provide resource guidance to any family in the community navigating a care decision, whether or not they become clients.
