Scammers are always looking for new ways to trick people, and unfortunately, seniors are often the targets. Fake emails and phone calls pretending to be from banks or government agencies are just a few ways you can be victimized by online fraud, and it can cost people thousands of dollars.
During our search for local services and events, we spotted something that we think will be helpful. The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum (397 Main St, Hyannis, MA 02601) is hosting a free event featuring Detective Christopher Botsford from the Barnstable Police Department. He will be speaking about Protecting Yourself from Online Fraud on March 28 from 10:30 – 11am. Attendees will get insights into how scammers operate, what warning signs to look out for, and steps they can take to protect their personal information. Plus, guests can enjoy a cup of coffee while they listen!
RSVP for this free event at the JFK Hyannis Museum Event Page.
