Home Care Services FAQs
A morning visit might include helping someone get out of bed, use the bathroom, shower or take a sponge bath, get dressed, groom, and prepare breakfast. A Care Pro may also support eating, walking, and moving around the home safely.
The pace matters. Care Pros can offer choices, encourage the client to participate, and avoid rushing through intimate routines. The aim is to help the person feel comfortable and supported while continuing to use their abilities.
Yes. A Care Pro can assist with walking and moving around the home safely, including use of a walker or another assistive device when that is part of the care plan. For someone who spends a lot of time in bed or in a chair, the visit may also include help changing positions.
These tasks should be planned around the client's abilities and instructions. The Care Pro encourages the person to do as much as they comfortably can and provides assistance where the routine has become difficult.
It can. All of our Care Pros drive, and transportation may be included when it is part of the care plan. That can mean getting to an appointment, picking up groceries, running an errand, or taking part in a social activity.
Transportation is more than a ride when someone is trying to stay connected to healthcare providers, family, and the Guilford community. The family should discuss destinations, timing, and the level of assistance needed.
Many families reach out when a parent wants to remain at home but is having more trouble with bathing, dressing, mobility, or daily routines. Care Pros can provide the specific help that has become difficult without taking over everything the client can still do.
That balance is part of the care plan. The team can discuss where standby help is enough, where hands-on assistance is needed, and how the schedule can change if the client's abilities change.
