October Care Professional of the Month: Martin Q
Martin joined our team in April of 2025, and we have all had the privilege of getting to know him quite well during these past few months, but here are some important things he wanted to share:
“I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas, but I have lived in Colorado since graduating college. Earlier this year, I retired from federal government service after 38 years in the Information Technology field. Home health care may seem like a completely different path from computers and technology, but there’s a connection. Helping older adults with technology taught me patience in an increasingly fast-paced IT world. Alongside technical skills, I quickly learned how to provide the essential services and ADLs my clients needed each day. The most influential people in my life were my parents. My father was a quadriplegic for the last 35 years of his life, and my mother cared for him throughout. His determination and her devotion and faithfulness have been a deep source of inspiration. Of course, as a younger person, I helped my father as I was able to and assisted my mother in whatever she needed from me in order to care for my father. These experiences shaped who I am. I hope they will allow me to serve my Home Instead clients with respect and compassion."
Martin is beloved by his clients and their family members who often call us to compliment and praise him for the detail and thought he puts into the care he provides each day. Recently, the son of one of his clients, who is a 101-year old WW2 veteran, emailed us the following:
"Martin sure surprises us everyday he comes! He used some of the pictures we had and some he pulled off the internet and made a multi page printed little book about my Dad in high school and through his service in WWII. He's always doing something amazing like this! He even brought Dad a little calendar with different dogs and cats on it because he saw how it made him smile looking at other pictures of kittens and puppies. I'm really impressed by what Martin has done and continues to do. He is really good with my Dad so much so that he treats him like he was his own Dad. I honestly am so grateful for Martin. He has been a real blessing not only to my Dad but to me as well. He continues to just amaze me with how much he does. He's one in a million!"
Thank you Martin for the amazing job you do and for the heart and professionalism you bring to your clients everyday! You are appreciated and respected as a very valuable member of our team.
