Music is a powerful thing that can bridge generations and give us the opportunity to connect with those who are navigating memory loss. At last week's Avondale Memory Cafe, a very special guest turned an ordinary afternoon into a festive celebration with only her voice and a guitar.
Kate Stewart of Kate Stewart Geriatric Resources LLC led us in singing Christmas Songs in Life Enrichment. It was inspiring watching Kate use the power of song to spark smiles and memories for those who attended. A familiar holiday tune can unlock stories for those living with dementia, and seeing that spark of recognition in their eyes is why we host these cafes. Supporting these moments is part of how we provide the best home care in Avondale, AZ, ensuring our seniors feel seen and heard every day.
If you haven’t visited yet, the Avondale Memory Cafe is free and meets every third Tuesday of the month from 1 to 2:30pm at the Avondale Resource Center, 995 E. Riley Dr. It’s a supportive space where people experiencing memory loss and their caregivers can come together to find resources and recognize they aren’t on this journey alone.
