  3. Local CAREGiver Recognized with Regional Award

Home Instead Senior Care, the country’s largest provider of in-home senior care services, has named Stephanie Luke of Fort Collins the West Region CAREGiver of the Year. A caregiver in Northern Colorado for over 8 years, Stephanie rose to the top among hundreds of candidates for this prestigious award and is one of eight nominees who will be considered for the national CAREGiver of the Year award this spring.

While being a CAREGiver is a great blessing to her clients, Stephanie feels privileged to have met all of the courageous people who have taught her more about life than she could ever imagine.  Stephanie recalls one of her most recent life lessons, “I learned about acceptance and bravery from a 5’2”, 98 pound courageous giant.  Although she had physical limitations from a past stroke, she was determined to keep her independence as long as possible.”  Stephanie feels grateful to Home Instead owners, Mike and Carol Maguire and the team in Fort Collins for giving her the opportunity to meet all of the courageous people that have impacted her own life. She explains “I really appreciate the training and support from the staff which has helped me provide better care through each life transition, especially with end of life care.”

“We’re proud to honor Stephanie for her commitment to her clients and compassionate service,” said

Mike Maguire, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Northern Colorado. “She represents the best of our organization and makes a difference in the lives of seniors every day.”

Stephanie becomes a finalist for the Home Instead Senior Care network’s “Mary Steibel CAREGiver of the Year” Award, the network’s top caregiving honor, which will be presented at the Home Instead Senior Care network’s annual International Convention in Omaha, Neb. On April 25, 2018. She is being recognized along with seven other regional CAREGivers of the Year from the United States and Canada who were selected from more than 65,000 Home Instead CAREGivers in North America. CAREGivers provide older adults with in-home care services such as companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, incidental transportation, errands and shopping, to help them remain independent at home or in care communities.
