Why Senior Care: During my CSU Internship, I purposely chose Elderhaus Adult Day Programs as I thought I wanted to work with children but decided to broaden my outlook on the future. This internship opened my eyes to the most incredible generation to serve. I decided to become a caregiver at an Assisted Living Facility and really enjoyed the quick paced environment and the number of residents that I became so close with. To this day, I couldn’t think of a more perfect profession for myself - not to mention how fun it is to learn about a person’s journey through life! We can all learn so much from this wise age group.

Shelley Turf, Billing Specialist

Expertise/Background: B.A. in Marketing. Expertise in management, finance and customer service.
Why senior care: I have been drawn to the senior industry due to the rewarding experience I had taking care of my grandmother. It was a blessing to be able to help her and further develop a loving relationship with her. I feel like I am a better person because of it.

Why Senior Care: Being a mum of 3, as well as a daughter, gave me an insight into the needs of seniors in my community, many of whom are isolated from family and support in their homes in this beautiful location. Home Instead gives me an opportunity to reach the seniors in my community and provide care to them in their homes with a fantastic group of CAREGivers.

Dawn Griffith, CARE Manager
Job Responsibilities: Meets with potential Clients and their families to discuss Home Instead services, and conducts quality assurance visits with current Clients. Territory: South Fort Collins/Loveland.
Background: B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a Minor in Gerontology. A.S. with an emphasis on Human Physiology. Past Home Instead Intern.
Why Senior Care: My passion for seniors began as a teen while working in a long term care facility. I enjoyed hearing and sharing life experiences with seniors so much that I went on to become an activity director in a few different facilities, one of which brought me to Colorado. Since that time and with the decline of my aging parents due to Parkinson's disease, my focus has turned toward senior advocacy and resource development. I feel, oftentimes, families and seniors alike are unaware of all the services available in the community to assist in keeping them as independent as possible.

Traci Episcopo, Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator
Job Responsibilities: Recruits and markets for new CAREGivers to join the team. Interviews, Screens & Hires new CAREGivers.
Background: Expertise in customer service and child care; served as a CAREGiver, Inquiry Specialist and Care Manager with Home Instead.
Why Senior Care: My interest in serving seniors began as a young girl having multiple family members residing in nursing facilities. I am extremely close with my grandmother and have seen the struggle first hand of her needing extra assistance but also being resistant to it. I love going to work every day hoping to make a difference in the senior community and the lives of the seniors we care for. My heart is full at the end of each day.

Nancy Jones, Training Manager
Job Responsibilities: Manages the current and upcoming training programs as well as ongoing development of the CAREGivers and Staff.
Background: Expertise in professional caregiving and has held a CNA license for 25 years.
Why senior care: I have always been drawn to the elderly population. I had an amazing relationship with my only living grandma. I was her oldest grandchild and loved to spend time with her. Playing cards was our favorite activity. My heart is helping the elderly be able to stay in their home.

Vanessa Mitchell, Inquiry Specialist
Job Responsibilities: Addresses incoming calls from potential clients, families and decision makers inquiring about home care services. Visits with potential clients and their families that come into the office for information. Provides community resources and referrals to prospects when needed.
Background: Going to school for Associates Degree in Health Information Technology, CNA for 10 years. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska.
Why Senior Care: Used to work at a company that conducted surveys for nursing homes, memory care units and hospitals. We got a lot of comments on the negative aspects and how it could be improved. I wanted to be the percentage that made the difference and help improve care for seniors. Just knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life is very rewarding.
