Amanda became interested in health sciences and gerontology when she attended college. While attending Azusa Pacific University, she majored in Applied Exercise Science and completed an internship with the California State University Fullerton Fall Prevention program through the Center for Successful Aging. The program's integral training focused on the promotion of senior vitality, the reduction of disability and frailty in later life, and education on whole-person wellness. During a summer break, Amanda began volunteering with a national Hospice organization where she learned the art of caregiving and its effect on patients who were nearing the end of life. After her Bachelor's Degree, Amanda furthered her interaction with seniors when she worked as a certified personal trainer. She integrated functional movement, balance training, and social wellness into her fitness programs and saw the significant impact it had on her aging clients. Simultaneously, she began her journey as an educator by guest lecturing on fitness at the University of La Verne and became a teacher for the World Instructor Training School for fitness professionals. She is currently working on her Masters in Organizational Psychology at APU.
At Home Instead, Amanda uses her knowledge of wellness and love for teaching to educate our CAREGivers and make a difference in the lives of our seniors. She currently performs dual roles for us: Amanda is responsible for assisting prospective clients & family members, scheduling service with an emphasis on creating extraordinary matches between our CAREGivers and clients and conducting in-home introductions of CAREGivers to clients; She is also responsible for content customization, coordination and delivery of all training programs for our CAREGivers.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors!
