They are like my own family!

Jennifer was born right here in Daytona Beach, at Halifax Hospital, and has lived in Port Orange her whole life. She graduated from Spruce Creek High School and then from UCF University. She and her husband, JJ, have been married for 10 years, and she is the proud mother of two sons.  Her oldest son is 21 years old. He attends Embry Riddle University and plays on their basketball team. Her younger son is 19 years old. He attends Daytona State and is the manager for the men's basketball team there.  She and her family have a furry friend also, a dog named Bailey.

Jennifer loves being around people and helping them to make their lives more enjoyable. "I truly enjoy talking and laughing with my clients." She loves that, "her work allows her to take the lead and lend a hand at bringing smiles to their faces and helping them to enjoy their lives again." She shared with me that as a young girl, her mom and dad owned their own assisted living facility. She spent much of her time helping her parents, as well as keeping company with their clients.  Jennifer said there are some fond memories, thinking back to their facility, with just being there to spend time with the elderly folks and helping them out.  "I find so much enjoyment in listening to them reminisce, talking about their families and sharing smiles over memories, and assisting them with all of their daily needs."  When asked what she likes least about her work, she exclaims that "there is absolutely nothing on that list".  Jennifer feels that, "this profession lends itself to such great passion and building that trust; that if I didn't like my job, then I wouldn't do it." Her words shine when she tells me that, "Home Instead Senior Care is a great company to work for. I have never had, not even one bad experience since I started working with Home Instead."  She adds that, "the team also makes working here wonderful as everyone in the office is so easy to work with and friendly! The communication between the office and the employees is awesome!"

When asked to tell me a little bit about herself, Jennifer tells me that "she loves the sharing and building of relationships between her and her clients. This is a big part of why she enjoys her position at Home Instead Senior Care". "Here at Home Instead caring for others and sharing her heart adds many memorable experiences that bring others, as well as herself, much joy in life."  Jennifer said that "she was drawn to a career with Home Instead, because she truly enjoys working with elderly people".  She knows that the times spent with our seniors is precious, as they have so much knowledge and they can share their life experiences and lessons with all of us! "Growing up in the facility environment taught me a lot of respect and I came to Home Instead Senior Care because I wanted to continue to make a difference in their lives." She loves her position and the fact that it allows her to build relationships that are important to our seniors. "I always treat people like they are my own family", she says with a smile in her voice.

Jennifer takes the lead and goes above and beyond to build relationships and shares her heart with so many!  We are so proud to announce that Jennifer has been chosen as our November 2015 CAREGiver of the month.
