Each Home Instead office is individually owned and operated.
The Northborough office was the first Home Instead Senior Care in New England and the 51st franchise in North America. After completion of a successful first year, the owners bought their second office located in Natick, MA.Although Home Instead Senior Care is a "" home care agency, the owners came into this business with years of medical backgrounds. Bruce Bender is a physician and Laurie Bender a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist.Now, with a staff of over 200 CAREGivers, and having provided care to well over 1,000 Clients, the Benders have remained in the forefront of Home Care in Massachusetts. They have worked with state representatives to both legislate and create quality standards for this industry.
Laurie Bender, RN, MSN, CCNS and her husband, Bruce Bender, MD, MS left their medical practices back in 1997 to open the first Home Instead Senior Care in New England.
Angela has a degree in Sociology and came to the Home Instead team in January 2002. She has a strong managerial background and a true passion for working with seniors and their families. For years she was often the first person a family member spoke with about home care services, conducting the in-home assessments to help guide families to the best possible solutions for care. Today Angela manages the operations of our business; developing and implementing goals on how we can continue to be the best home care resource for our community. In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog Marley. They enjoy adventurous vacations and fun kayaking trips.
Deb joined the Home Instead Team in 2009 as one of our Clinical Nurse Supervisors. She provides the Nursing Assessment for any client seeking personal or companion care services. Deb also supervises our personal care staff and provides ongoing quality assessment visits for all of our personal care clients. She came to us with 35+ years of nursing experience in acute care hospital settings, with the last two years as a unit manager in a long-term care facility. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids, and granddogs! She is also an advid Boston sports fan!
Ann initially began her relationship with Home Instead as our Nurse Educator in 2012. In 2013 she joined the Home Instead Team as one of our Clinical Nurse Supervisors. She provides the Nursing Assessment for any Home Instead client seeking personal or companion care services. Ann also supervises our personal care staff and provides ongoing quality assessment visits for all of our personal care clients. She comes to us with years of nursing experience as both a clinician and nurse educator.
Mary joined our team in November 2019 as a Clinical Client Care Manager. Mary came to Home Instead after working in Long Term Care and realized she prefered the Home Care philosophy. She provides the Nursing Assessment for any client seeking personal or companion care services. Mary also supervises our personal care staff and provides ongoing quality assurance visits for all of our personal care clients.
Michelle joined our team in 2014 as a CAREGiver. After completing her nursing degree she returned to Home Instead as our Quality Assurance Manager. Michelle visits with both Personal Care and Companion Care clients to make sure services are going well, and to up date their careplans.
Amanda Williams joined Home Instead as a Client
Care Manager in 2014, she was promoted to the position of Recruitment
Coordinator, in September 2018. She works to recruit, screen,
hire, and retain the highest quality of CAREGivers. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach with her husband.
Emma joined Home Instead as a Summer Intern in May 2019. As a Recruitment and Retention Assistant she works along side Amanda to recruit, screen, and hire incoming CAREGivers. Emma is currently finishing her Associates Degree in Human Services, and hopes to move on to do her Bachelors Degree in Geriatric Social Work. In her Spare time she enjoys movies, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
Shyann joined our team as a Recruitment and Retention assistant in October 2019, she was promoted to Billing and Payroll & Long Term Care Coordinator in January 2020. Shyann is available to help our Clients and CAREGivers with all of their billing and payroll questions. She also helps our Clients with Long Term Care benefits, get reimbursed for their services. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies and spending time with her boyfriend.
Kathy joined our team as a CAREGiver in August 2016 and was quickly promoted to her current role as Client Care Manager. In August 2019 she was again promoted to Senior Client Care Manager. She came to us with 25 years of accounting experience and wanted a position that allowed her to more personally connect with her clients. Kathy is the head of the scheduling department. She manages the Client Care Managers, and assists in the placement and supervision of our CAREGivers for both Personal and Companion Care clients. She is also responsible for the overall case management and communication between client, CAREGiver, and family. In her free time Kathy enjoys being with her family and enjoying the outdoors.
Chelsea is a part-time student working towards a degree in Human Services. She joined Home Instead as a CAREGiver in February 2018 and was promoted to her role as Client Care Manager in October 2018. She assists in the placement and supervision of our CAREGivers for both Personal and Companion Care clients. She has a passion for working with people and a background in retail sales. In Chelsea's free time she enjoys spending time with her adorable son Charlie, her cats, and watching scary movies.
Lisa Johnson, Assistant Client Care Manager,
joined us in November 2018 as a CAREGiver. She was promoted to Client
Care Manager in January 2019. She assists in the placement and supervision of our CAREGivers for both Personal and Companion Care clients. Originally
from Vermont, Lisa has experience working in nursing homes, and as a private
aide. In her free-time Lisa enjoys
spending time with her two boys and enjoys crocheting.
Jeanne joined our team in August 2019 as a CAREGiver. She was promoted to Assistant Client Care Manager in December 2019. Jeanne splits her time between working for clients as a CAREGiver and helping in the office in the scheduling department. Jeanne assists with the placement and supervision of our CAREGivers for both our Personal Care and Companion clients. Jeanne is a retired administrative assistant who enjoys spending time with her family and her three cats.
Katherine "Kate" joined us in May 2019 as an Assistant Client Care Manager and CAREGiver. Kate is in her second year of nursing school at Worcester State College. Kate is primarily in the office during school breaks and in the summer. She helps with the overall placement and supervision of all of our Companion and Personal Care Clients and CAREGivers. She doesn't have much spare time because school keeps her busy, but when she does have time she enjoys spending it with family and friends.
Zoey is our resident paper shredder and garbage sorter. He joined Home Instead in April 2012 and has been a dedicated team member ever since.
