Goodlettsville March 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight - Mr. Evans & Rodney Kelley

Meet March’s Client and Professional CAREGiver Spotlight team of Mr. Evans and Rodney Kelley.  Mr. Evans was born on a corn farm in Iowa. When he graduated high school, he began framing houses. He worked in the framing business his whole life. He built the beautiful house he and his wife Linda have lived in for 40 years. He is a huge Titans fan and has lots of Titans keepsakes in his home. His wife Linda is a chef and sells cakes at the 5 chef’s restaurant in Portland. He enjoys sampling her cakes from time to time.

Rodney is a very special person. He goes over and above his role as a caregiver. Mr. Evans loves butter pecan ice cream. He was running low in the freezer and Rodney came to his next shift with 3 gallons of ice cream. He knows when he is having a bad day and will try extra hard to comfort him and make him laugh. One day when Mr. Evans came home from the hospital and was in a lot of pain, Rodney made sure he comforted him every way possible, from pillows to his favorite foods.

Rodney and Mr. Evans play a lot of cards. When Mr. Evans is losing, he will tell Rodney that its time for ice cream and then laugh. They watch movies about animals and John Wayne westerns. Mr. Evans says, “We have been through a lot. Once you learn to laugh, you can get through anything”. We are so happy for relationships like this one. We love being able to help Mr. Evans stay safe at “Home Instead”.
