Goodlettsville April 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Regina D.
Meet Regina D., Goodlettsville’s Professional CAREGiver℠ of the Month for April. Ms. Regina came to us in 2018, after spending 20 years at Wal-Mart in overnight maintenance. Prior to that, she served five years in the Air Force, where she was stationed for a time in Okinawa, Japan. She remembers the people in Japan being so friendly that it was a culture shock to come back to America. She did not want to be too adventurous with trying new foods while she was there, sticking to some of her favorites from back home. However, she did develop a taste for Kobe beef, only to realize that it is harder to find than she imagined because there are not a lot of cows in Japan!
Ms. Regina has had some interesting clients during her time with Home Instead. One of her favorite memories is of a client who wanted to feed her dog fruits. The dog did not like fruit but would take it from her client’s hand and then spit it out while she was not watching! Ms. Regina has a love for helping others ever since she took care of her late mother. In her spare time, you can find Ms. Regina crocheting, drawing and sewing. Her latest sewing project has been sewing face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also loves to watch DIY (do it yourself) and home improvement television shows.
Ms. Regina’s supervisor says, “Ms. Regina has four clients who absolutely adore her. She is very reliable and never calls out. She has had the same clients for years and always has a smile on her face”. We are certainly glad Ms. Regina is with us here at Home Instead because she Shares Her Heart daily. She is a shining example of the type of CAREGiver we strive to keep with us, and we hope Ms. Regina continues making a difference in the lives of our clients for many years to come.
