Sid Jay, Owner

In 2003, Sid realized a growing need for non- medical care for seniors. He believed Home Instead was the clear choice based on the support and quality.

Sid’s hobbies include camping, traveling, photography and making music with friends. He welcomes your questions and comments about Home Instead Senior Care.

Tracy Oberst, General Manager

Tracy Oberst, General Manager

Tracy’s background is in marketing, business development, sales and management. She earned her degree in Automotive Marketing at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. Tracy began her career in a high-volume multi-line auto dealership and made her way to a hospital-owned home health, palliative care, hospice and home care entity in Ohio. Her decision to switch career paths developed when her parent’s health deteriorated. She saw a personal need within her own family dynamics that required outside care. Tracy joined Home Instead Senior Care because of the outstanding reputation HISC has as a leader in the home care industry. She is humbled to have the privilege to work for and with a group of people that truly want to make a difference in the lives of Seniors!

Maxine Lang, Office Manager

Maxine Lang, Office Manager

Maxine joined HISC in 2006 as the first CAREGiver for the Salisbury​ office. She soon added more duties, including office administrator, staffing coordinator, human resources, client care coordinator, recruiting and training. She has been the lead instructor for the Alzheimer's training program. She now manages the office in Salisbury and Concord responsible for all administration. She was a cardiology tech for 18 years in a hospital in MD. She enjoys writing and has authored a children's book, "Sheldon's Adventures In Heaven". She has two daughters, two stepchildren, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She loves that HISC is a business of the heart-where caring is everything!

Stacey Ostrom, Service Coordinator

Stacey Ostrom, Service Coordinator

Stacey Ostrom has been in the health care field for over 30 years. She began working in a nursing home in Kansas where she received her CNA and later relocated to North Carolina where she returned to school and received her CMA. She was on track to become an LPN but met the love of her life and decided to marry and start a family. Stacey was married for 20 wonderful years. She and their daughter had the opportunity to care for him until his passing in 2013. In July of 2015 Stacey began a new journey in life and decided that Home Instead Senior Care was a place she could call home.

Alicia Nelson, Service Coordinator

Alicia Nelson, Service Coordinator

Alicia came to Home Instead Senior Care in 2016 with 20 plus years in the medical field. Her postion entails scheduling and findling the "right fit" for each client and CAREGiver. She is orginally from Pennsylvania and enjoys returning to visit family and her new grandchild! Alicia is married with 3 children.​

Karla Martin, Client Care Coordinator

Karla Martin, Client Care Coordinator

Karla joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2015 after retiring from her teaching job in Pennsylvania. Yes, she's a "Yankee," but she loves the North Carolina life, especially the beautiful weather! She was very happy to find a position as a Client Care Coordinator with HISC, where she can continue caring for others and meeting new people. As the mother of 5 children, "caring for others" comes naturally to her, so she welcomes the opportunity to set up quality care for her clients. Kenda Johns, Training and Records Coordinator

Kenda Johns, Training and Records Coordinator

Kenda Johns relocated to the Charlotte area from a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania five years ago. She has a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Curriculum and was a high school mathematics teacher for ten years. In 2017 she joined the staff at HISC as their Training and Records Coordinator. Communication, organization, attention to detail, leadership, integrity and compassion are the skills she developed as a teacher that allow her to be successful at HISC in her Caregiver training role.

Lou Dorton Shue, PRN Registered Nurse

Lou Dorton Shue, PRN Registered Nurse

Lou Dorton Shue, RN, BSN, MS joined Home Instead Senior Care in June of 2010. She has 40 years of experience in the nursing field. Most of her experience has been in nursing education with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She enjoys her work with HISC, especially working with the CAREGivers. Lou and her husband Jeb have two children. Lou enjoys tennis, bowling and playing golf!​
