Objective:
The Lead Care Professional is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to clients while serving as a role model for other care staff. This includes arriving punctually for all scheduled shifts, following individualized care plans, documenting care accurately, and communicating effectively with clients, families, and the care team. The Lead Care Professional mentors and supports junior staff, ensures adherence to company policies and safety protocols, participates in ongoing training, and takes initiative to address issues and improve client care. They are expected to perform a variety of caregiving duties and various administrative duties, including On-Site Reviews.
Availability/Schedule: 40 hrs./weekly Fridays-Tuesdays, being available for call outs or introductions as needed between 8AM-8PM.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reflect the core values of Smith Family Senior Care, LLC, dba an independently owned and operated Home Instead franchise.
- Provide a positive first impression to clients, their family members, and to co-workers.
- Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client’s quality of life.
- Maintain regular communication with the General Manager and office staff.
- Can provide all necessary non-medical services to our clients.
- Conduct & document introductions between clients and Care Professionals.
- Conduct and document on-site reviews of Care Professionals as needed.
- Must be available to work within your availability in the event of a call out, no show, or new client start up.
- Can offer shadowing opportunities and hands-on training to Care Professionals, as needed.
- Mentor new Care Professionals, as needed.
- Give updates for client plan of care and assessments, as needed.
- Ensure Home Instead standards are met and upheld.
- Provide assistance in office as needed.
- Help cover overnight on-call phone as needed for on-call staff call outs/vacations.
- Cover holidays when they land on your scheduled work day.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Help with Quarterly Meetings, as needed.
- Attend monthly One-on-One meetings with General Manager.
- Answer phone calls in office as a backup, when needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Education/Experience Requirement:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed/certified Care Professional
- Must possess a valid Caregiving license/certification
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by Smith Family Senior Care, LLC, dba an independently owned and operated Home Instead Franchise.
- Must demonstrate professional oral and written communication skills, and the ability to listen effectively.
- Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information, and meet deadlines.
- Must have overall knowledge of the Senior Care Industry.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
- Must demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures.
- Must be patient and congenial on the telephone.
- Must be able to work Fridays-Tuesdays from 8AM-8PM as needed.
