At Home Instead of Oak Harbor, we’re always looking for ways to feature local events that seniors and families in our community may enjoy. On Thursday, April 17, from 4 - 5pm the Oak Harbor Library will host Whidbey Wonders: Two Years at Sea, a session where Oak Harbor residents, John Goebel and Karen Cox, will share stories from their two-year sailing journey that spanned 13 countries, 8021 nautical miles, and 57 ports of call.
As John shared in a recent South Whidbey Record article, “You gain so much perspective when you go to other places. It teaches you patience and gratitude.” You can expect to hear about their favorite destinations, what daily life on the sea was like, and the lessons they learned along the way.
If you're interested in learning more, stop by the Library at 1000 SE Regatta Dr, Oak Harbor, WA 98277, on April 17th and enjoy listening to this couple's fascinating journey.
At Home Instead, we love celebrating stories that connect us. We’re proud to support seniors through the best home care in Oak Harbor, WA, and by sharing opportunities like this one that inspire and bring people together.
