When Milagros first joined our team, she shared her passion for caregiving. From the very beginning, it was clear that Milagros had a genuine heart for this work, which inspired us to welcome her into our home care team in Magnolia, Texas.
One remarkable incident that showcased Milagros's dedication was when she was caring for a client and once she stepped into the home she noticed a foul odor. Realizing it smelled like gas, she quickly investigated and discovered that the client's stove was on, but the flame was out. Without hesitation, Milagros acted swiftly. She evacuated the client and their spouse from the home, then safely turned off the stove, ensuring no one was harmed and preventing a potentially dangerous situation.
On another occasion, Milagros once again demonstrated her commitment and calm under pressure. While assisting a different client with their shower, the client unexpectedly turned blue, her eyes rolled back and went unconscious. Milagros promptly placed the client on the floor, called 911, and contacted the client's family. Thanks to her composed and decisive actions, she provided vital information to the medical team upon their arrival and ensured the client received the immediate care they needed.
We are incredibly grateful for Milagros's quick thinking, dedication, and compassion. Caregiving can be a challenging profession, yet it is one of the most rewarding. Milagros embodies the very best of what it means to be a caregiver, and we deeply appreciate her for going above and beyond to keep her clients safe and cared for.
