Meet Our Team

After starting our family and living in the Greater Columbia, SC area for over 10 years, we fell in love with Home Instead during our time working with Home Instead in Michigan. After spending 3 years there, it was our desire to return home and invest in this community that we care so much about. With Samantha’s background as a RN and Brad’s experience in the industry, this was a perfect fit to love and serve this area. The relationships with our clients, their families, and our amazing CAREGivers is what we enjoy so much about Home Instead. We’re striving to enhance the lives of seniors and their loved ones in the Greater Columbia area.

Prior to joining Home Instead, Matt served as a Vice President with Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina. Alyssa currently works as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Prisma Health in Columbia. Matt and Alyssa were both raised in Lexington and feel called to serve the people of the Midlands. After many years working in hospital settings, they both felt the need to work with seniors and loved ones in a way that honors not just our clients, their families, but also our amazing CAREGivers.  

Meghan, a native of Irmo, South Carolina joined the Home Instead team in July of 2024.  After serving as a school counselor in Lexington County for 16 years she decided she was ready to serve a different population in our community.  At Home Instead Meghan works with our community partners to make sure that everyone knows about the great services Home Instead offers.  When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two boys and husband and reading a good book! 

Beth Morris joined the Home Instead team in June 2024.  A native of Sumter, SC she has lived in the Columbia area since 1998.  Beth joins Home Instead as the client care manager for our Northeast clients and enjoys getting to know the clients and the families that she serves.  In her free time Beth loves to spend time with her husband, visit her children in college and cheer on her high school age son at the ball field.  

Julie joined the Home Instead team as Community Relations Liaison in April of 2025. Julie has worked in the senior care industry for 19 years in assisted living, non-medical home care, home health, and hospice giving her a unique perspective and experience in the many facets of care. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina in Interdisciplinary Studies. Originally, she is from Sumter, SC where she was born and raised until her move to Lexington, SC in 2020. When Julie isn’t at work, she is busy with her husband, their two daughters, and dog, going to various activities of her girls and enjoying all that Lexington and the surrounding areas has to offer.  

Amber Abstance joined the Home Instead team in November 2025, bringing both personal passion and compassion to her role as HR Coordinator. A native of Aiken, SC, Amber relocated to Lexington in September 2025 and quickly rooted herself in the community. Her commitment to quality home care is deeply personal- Amber's own grandmother receives home health services, giving her firsthand understanding of the impact that compassionate caregiving can have on families. When she is not at work, you will likely find her cozied up with a good book, or spending time with her family.

April joined the Home Instead team in April 2025.  A native of Camden, SC.  April joined the Home Instead as our Corporate Trainer and enjoys getting to know the caregivers, clients and the families that she serves. April is new to Home Instead but has been training for 5 years. In her free time April loves to spend time with her son and travel. April loves traveling and cruising. Her favorite hobby is swimming. 

 

Amyia, who is from Camden, SC, received her CNA license in High School and joined the Home Instead team in June of 2023 as a caregiver.  Since then, she has moved her way up to join the office staff as a Lead Care Pro. She has enjoyed making an impact in our client’s lives by listening to and caring for them.  She looks forward to growing with Home Instead and continuing to give our clients the best care possible.  When she is not working, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her friends and family.  

Nichole Smith joined the Home Instead team in August of 2023.  She has served a few roles here at Home Instead but has found her passion as our client care coordinator.  In this role, Nichole is a listening ear to our clients and helps make sur that our clients are having the best experience possible.  In her spare time, Nichole is a busy mom of three and can be found zooming around town to their activities.

Kristina McCullough joined Home Instead in 2025 as a Care Manager in Iowa before transferring to South Carolina, where she now serves as Care Coordinator. She enjoys working with seniors and meeting families, helping them navigate difficult situations with empathy and support. Kristina holds both a Bachelor's and Master's in Healthcare Administration, and brings a strong foundation in healthcare operations and leadership to her role. She is a proud military spouse and mother of three and volunteers as a Key Support Liaison supporting military families at Shaw AFB.

Syeidra joined the team as a Client Care Coordinator for Special Projects in April of 2025. She started her career caregiving for mentally disabled adults and then expanded to customer experience. She has a passion for helping others and cultivating new relationships. Syeidra provides our clients with a positive experience and a good laugh. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her wife and niece and adding new plants to her collection.

Ashley Burkett is a native of Irmo, South Carolina and joined the Home Instead team in July.   As a senior care veteran with six years of experience, she brings not only her knowledge but a love for caregivers and our clients that is unmatched.  In her spare time Ashley can be found shopping and spending time with her family.
