Caregiver (Part-Time) – New Philadelphia & Strasburg

Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate Caregivers—we call ours Care Professionals—to become a part of our team and join our mission of expanding the world’s capacity to care. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow aging adults to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care, and compassion.

We are hiring for a full-time position with a 12-hour shift (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM). While full-time availability is strongly preferred, we also welcome part-time applicants; however, part-time schedules will follow the same shift hours, with fewer working days.

This role primarily focuses on companionship, but we are specifically seeking candidates with experience supporting clients with dementia and short-term memory loss.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Alzheimer’s and dementia care
• Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Companionship and meaningful conversation
• Providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment
• Treating clients and their property with dignity and respect
• Communicating in a friendly and compassionate manner

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of caregiving experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience with dementia or memory care (REQUIRED)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (REQUIRED)
• Must carry and maintain valid auto insurance, especially when transporting clients
• Ability to support an active client who enjoys outdoor activities, with the energy and engagement to match an active lifestyle
