Caregiver Trainer & HR Support (Hybrid)

Location: Topeka (Shawnee County) with travel to Lawrence (Douglas County) 1–2 days per week
Pay: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience

Ready to grow your career while still making a direct impact with clients? This hybrid role combines hands-on caregiving with training. You will work client shifts in the field and help build Caregiver skills through orientation, refreshers, coaching, and in-field evaluations.

Must have (Minimum qualifications)

  • Recent, hands-on caregiving experience in home care, assisted living, hospital, or similar
  • Willingness to regularly work client shifts as a Caregiver in addition to office duties
  • Strong communication skills with staff, Caregivers, clients, families, and facility partners
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and at least three years of driving history
  • Willing to complete criminal background check and drug screen (including marijuana)

Strongly preferred

  • Active CNA or HHA credential, or a nursing degree/license
  • Experience training adults, coaching performance, or leading skills refreshers
  • Comfort with basic office systems and learning new software

What you will do

  • Provide direct client care in the field to maintain skills and support coverage needs
  • Train new and current Caregivers: lead orientation, skills refreshers, and one-on-one coaching
  • Evaluate Caregiver performance and complete in-field skills checks and documentation
  • Support applicant vetting, post-hire engagement, and annual performance evaluations
  • Help manage small projects: set goals, track progress, document processes
  • Protect confidential information, follow policy, and maintain accurate, compliant records

Schedule and location

  • Based in Topeka office; travel to Lawrence office 1–2 days per week
  • Provide training one Saturday per month and occasional evenings as needed
  • Field caregiving shifts scheduled to meet client needs

Pay

  • $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
