May 11th 2009 Sandra Greaves & Roger Ross opened up their Office in Middletown, CT. With zero experience between the two of us, we took a leap of FAITH into a field we were praying we could make a difference in. The goal was to use the limited experience we had taking care of our own parents and giving it our best shot at improving the lives of seniors in and around our community. As owners of the Middletown office we can honestly say we love what we do, love how we make a difference in the lives of our Clients & Caregivers and we are very passionate about the work we have yet to accomplish in the future.

Mandy Barreiro, General Manager

Mandy joined the Middletown Home Instead office as the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator in October 2022 and was promoted to General Manager in April 2023. Susan Kearns, Client Care Coordinator
To contact Susan Kearns: [email protected]
Susan Kearns is happy to be returning to Home Instead. Having prior served as a Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator she is eager to take on the role of Client Care Coordinator. She has an eclectic background and has spent a considerable amount of time in the mortgage, insurance, risk management and non-profit industries which has given her a vast array of experiences working with people from all walks of life. Susan has also developed strong ties with local communities through decades of volunteer work. She has spent countless hours coordinating and recruiting volunteers for Bridgeport’s Saint Vincent’s Medical Foundation’s cancer programs as well as mentoring the same Special Olympian athlete for over 29 years.
Susan comes from a large family. Her past has provided her with much exposure and meaningful interactions with her grandparents and elderly relatives. These life experiences have allowed her to develop a genuine interest and a natural rapport with the elderly. She has also had first hand experience caring for an elderly parent and she fully understands what it takes to provide quality care and to develop lasting bonds with the senior population. She looks forward to bringing that same energy, desire, and passion again to Home Instead in her role as Client Care Coordinator.

Kishalee Allen, Engagement Coordinator
To contact Kishalee Allen: [email protected]
My name is Kishalee, I am a mother of 5 ages 22,12, 10, 9, and 7: four boys and my one lone daughter at the end. I am a Notary Public, Justice of Peace having officiated about a dozen marriages, and a Life Coach. In my spare time I love to read and write and attend open mics for poetry. I have written 2 books that are published on Amazon and working on a 3rd, 1 sentence at a time whenever I have a moment. I am currently a student a CT State pursuing a degree in social work with a goal to work with the elderly serving as another voice for them in the most vulnerable stages of their lives.
I joined the Home Instead team in June of 2024 as a Care Pro. I chose to continue to grow with Home Instead because as a Care Pro who has 20+ years working in many different settings both private and facilities, Home Instead is the first company I witnessed firsthand live by our slogan “For us, it’s personal”. I have been a main caregiver for 3 elderly family members in their end stage of life and if I had to do it again, I would trust Home Instead to be a part of that journey. I wanted to be a part of a team that I can be proud of, and I found that here as their new Engagement Coordinator and am very excited to make a difference.

Richard Kowinsky, Lead Care Professional
To contact Richard Kowinsky: [email protected]
In February of 2000, working as a General Manager overseeing Convenient Stores/Gas Stations, I was searching for some supplemental income. I came across a job posting for a Caregiver position at Home Instead in Middletown CT. As a son who struggled with care needed for an aging mother and feeling the frustrations of finding good care for my mother, I felt I could assist a family in need of the service. Although I’ve been a caregiver for a relatively short period of time, my clients and I have shared a lifetime of memories. At Home Instead growth is possible! My role as a Lead Care Professional has led to increased responsibility and increased interaction with both clients and other Care Professionals. As a Lead Care Pro, I have been able to assist with our Onboarding Orientation, Leading Alzheimer’s/Dementia Education Classes, and assisting Office Personnel with numerous Marketing/Sales and Recruitment projects. The Home Instead Middletown office creates a great team atmosphere, open to new ideas and creativity. I truly believe I made a great choice by joining the Home Instead mission!
