Registered Nurse

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the Agency's Medication Administration tasks
  • RN Delegation Services and Oversight
  • Active role in the Agency's QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement) Program
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect

  • Responsible for ensuring all Quality Assurance home visits with new clients two-weeks after start of service and every 90-days are scheduled and completed by the due date. Ensure proper maintenance of Client Journals. Collect service records for office file and keep journal stocked with blank forms.
  • Maintain all active prospects and client records in ClearCare. Update and inactivate prospect and client files as needed.
  • Take phone inquiries from prospective clients, set-up service calls, record client inquiries in ClearCare to enable reporting conversion, closing and referral sources.
  • Know about long-term care insurance and how it works to be in a position to advise clients on this topic during care consultations.
  • Responsible for maintaining client files; scanning into the main shared folder and ensuring the hard copies are in the client file.
  • 90-Day audit of client files when home visit is conducted.
  • Gain mastery of the following technical systems/processes/resources: Outlook Calendars, Outlook Mail, ClearCare, The Hub, One Drive File Sharing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Konica Printer, Panasonic Phone System, EFax, and more.
 
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Care Consultations with prospective clients.
    • Requires intimate knowledge of all care consultation paperwork: Client Disclosure Statement, Client Assessment, Service Plan, Service Agreement, Medication Services Agreement and Direct Payment Authorization.
  • Assist with on-call duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 Qualifications:
  • Previous experience required - MUST hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license that covers work in Oregon 
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment
  • Must have the ability to work Monday thru Friday (full-time)

Overview:

  • This is a salaried position with excellent compensation, that is exempt from FLSA overtime rules
  • This position requires the performance of office work directly related to the general business operations of HD Industries, LLC d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care®.
  • This position currently supervises a team of 3 Staffing Schedulers and 3 On-Call Coordinators
  • This position ensures the exercise of discretion and independent judgment regarding the significant matter of maintaining the daily schedules of clients and CAREGivers thus creating a basis of billable services for the business
  • Compatibility between CAREGivers and clients
  • Efficient utilization of the office’s collective CAREGiving resources

Objective:

  • The CAREGiver Staffing Scheduler Manager ensures quality client care by managing the service schedule with the following goals in mind:
  • Compatibility between CAREGivers and clients
  • Efficient utilization of the office’s collective CAREGiving resources
  • Nurturing the relationships with our CAREGivers maintaining or increasing the hours of service provided

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the values of HD Industries, LLC d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care®
  • Use the CAREGiver pool efficiently to provide as many service hours as possible while limiting instances of CAREGiver overtime
  • Monitor, mediate and log both client and CAREGiver activity and follow up on CAREGiver assignments and client service as needed
  • Verify that all shifts are assigned the correct rates for client billing and CAREGiver compensation
  • Coordinate and maintain monthly client schedules in ClearCare, during regular and on-call hours
  • Maintain a minimum of 30 days out on the Open Shift calendar at all times
  • Maintain communication with clients about their schedules, new CAREGivers on shift, replacement CAREGivers, fill-in CAREGivers, etc.
  • Ensure all On-Call notes are followed-up on so we do not have any unassigned shifts or duplicate assignments. Ensure that if there is a change in a schedule that everything has been followed through with; i.e. shifts cancelled, added and/or corrected
  • Ensure communication to CAREGivers is accurate and complete before scheduling shifts
  • Complete performance numbers weekly
  • Answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner, during regular and on-call hours
  • Gain mastery of the following technical systems/processes/resources: Outlook Calendars, Outlook Mail, ClearCare, The Hub, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Network Printer, Panasonic Phone System, EFax, and more

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in CAREGiver evaluations
  • Take phone inquiries from prospective clients, set up care consultations and record client inquiries in ClearCare to enable reporting on conversion, closing and referral sources
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager, including caregiving

Qualifications:

  • Previous Scheduling experience for a home care agency (1 year minimum)
  • Proven Management Experience in a fast-paced environment with excellent leadership abilities working with a diverse group of personalities and learning styles
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a constantly changing environment
