Cheryl spent 24 years as a residential mortgage broker and loved what
she did because she was helping people...newlyweds buying their first
home, moving up because there were kids on the way, or refinancing to
help them send the kids to college or because they could save money.
However, after 24 years it was time for something new. I have taken care
of people all of my life…most recently my Dad and then my Aunt and
Uncle. It’s a hard job – but a very gratifying one. One day a friend
of mine who was also a mortgage broker introduced me to Home Instead
Senior Care. Over the next year I got to learn more and more about the
industry and decided that it was for me. Then started the search for
the right company (I had to do research of course!). Well, all of my
research pointed me right back to Home Instead. The corporate culture
could not be beat! No matter who you are, senior, CAREGiver or other
professional, what is best for you is what they strive for!
When not working Cheryl loves playing with her Triumph Spitfire, ice
skating, camping, hiking and gardening.
Heather joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2016 as a care giver planning to use her life skills to bring comfort and care to her clients. Little did she know that her love of cooking and nutrition would play a big part in her care of several different clients! In January of 2017 Heather took on the responsibilities of Service Coordinator in addition to serving her "special" clients. Providing quality in-home care to seniors is something Heather feels passionate about.
Heather and her husband are raising two wonderful kids and, if that doesn't keep her busy enough, Heather is very involved in the local theater.
We welcome back Cortney Wood! Cortney was the first employee at Home Instead Senior Care in Blue Hill back in 2014 and, after taking some time off to be with her young son, is back as our service coordinator. Being a native Mainer, Cortney is very familiar wiith our service area and the ebb and flow of our seasonal population as well as those who brave the winters here. Cortney says that the reason she really wanted to come back to us is that she "really loves to help others and strongly supports the importance of our mission of helping senior to age in place".
In addiiton to her extensive family, Cortney holds her menagerie of animals deara to her heart.
Cortney has a great "can-do" attitude and is always motivated to get things done!
"I am continually struck by the professionalism, high level of caring and exemplary caregivers that I have met from Home Instead. My mom couldn't live without them, and neither could I.
