Senior Care Cost Comparison

Professional in-home care allows your family members to age in place. They can continue to live safely and independently in the home they've known and in which they feel comfortable. In-home care offers, security and  peace of mind.

Unlike the high, fixed costs associated with assisted living facilities or nursing homes, the price of in-home care is flexible in order to meet your specific needs. Keep control of your budget by scheduling as few, or as many, hours of care as you need.

How to Pay for In-Home Care

Here are some ways that our current clients pay for services:

Long-Term Care Insurance

Many long-term care insurance policies cover in-home care services. Check your policy to see if it covers the services you need at home. We work with many long-term care (LTC) insurance companies to bring you the covered services you need. Give us a call to help you determine what benefits you are eligible for under your Long Term Care Insurance policy.

Veteran's Aid & Attendance Benefits

The Veterans Administration offers a federal program that pays cash to veterans and/or their spouses. These funds may be used to help pay for home care for veterans.  For more information, call our office at 508-984-7900.

Reverse Mortgages

There are many myths about reverse mortgages.  This program has changed many times and keeps evolving.  We work with local Reverse Mortgage Specialists who are professional, reliable and trustworthy.  Call our office for further information.

Insurance Member Benefits

If you have Tufts Health Plan  or Harvard Pilgrim Health Care you are eligible for an exclusive member discount:
  • One time $100 credit toward charges for services.
  • Free home safety inspection ($75 value) at the start-up of services.

Life Care Funding

This funding helps families convert life insurance policies into a long- term care benefit account which can be used to pay for long-term care expenses such as in-home care. If a life insurance policy is in force with a death benefit of $50,000 or more, and the insured party is in need of care, Life Care Funding may be able to assist the family to access those funds NOW. This is a no-cost, Medicaid friendly way to tap into the policy instead of letting it lapse or having to wait until your loved one dies in order to receive the death benefits.

Medically Underwritten Annuities

A medically underwritten annuity creates a guaranteed income that will last for the life of the care recipient and that is specific to their situation. Income begins immediately, and unlike long term care insurance, there are no claims to file and no ongoing health evaluations. Because it is underwritten, monthly payments are based on your health at the time of purchase and the care you need.

Visit www.Genworth.com to help you understand how an underwritten annuity can help pay for you or your loved one's care and to request a consultation with a trained financial professional.

If you have questions about how to pay for senior care, give us a call: (508) 984-7900. We will be happy to discuss your options.
