Home Care Consultant

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care the world’s trusted source of non-medical services and home care for seniors, seeks an individual to learn our business and become part of our Home Care Consulting team that coordinates a variety of Sales and Marketing duties including researching and pursuing new referral sources and enhancing and maintaining relationships with existing referral sources in Shawnee and Douglas Counties.  It is our goal at Home Instead Senior Care to enhance the lives of the seniors we serve and to help them remain independent for as long as possible.  Each of us are in this business because we have a heart for service and a passion for seniors.  We have a positive, uplifting team / family environment and we want someone who fits into those characteristics.
 
The Home Care Consultant is responsible for ensuring achievement of revenue objectives for the assigned territory.  Revenue is to be generated from a variety of Sales and Marketing duties, including researching and pursuing new referral sources and enhancing and maintaining relationships with existing referral sources.  This position is responsible for reporting results in moving relationships forward to Manager on a weekly basis, discussing successes and opportunities, and demonstrating documented progress and inquiry production in Sales/Marketing/Networking areas.
 
Primary Responsibilities:                                                                             

  • Reflect the core values of Sunflower Eldercare Services, (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).
  • Responsible for researching and developing client relationships and producing referrals; performs all phases of sales process, including preparation and documentation of cold calls, follow-up calls, diagnosis of referral source and client needs, recommendation of appropriate Home Instead® services and additional community resources, maintaining and nurturing existing referral accounts, including follow-up, as necessary. PRESENTATION SKILLS ARE A MUST.
  • Achieve inquiry generation objectives for assigned territory with the primary goal of bringing in new business to increase overall market share. Target accounts include, but are not limited to, hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, senior centers, hospice, funeral homes, etc.
  • In conjunction with Home Instead Senior Care franchise leadership, develops sales and marketing plans, detailing weekly and monthly activities focused on meeting or exceeding established goals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Home Instead Senior Care brand. Effectively presents Home Instead Senior Care marketing materials and services to referral providers, including 1:1 meetings, as well as planning, arranging and conducting formal group presentations to referral providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls; presentations; closed sales; and follow-up activities within the assigned territory, including the use of software to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential.
  • Develop a database of qualified leads from referrals through face-to-face cold calling on referral providers, email, telephone and Web.
  • Conduct Service Inquiries and Care Consultations as needed following the consultative sales process
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects, and co-workers.  
  
Secondary Responsibilities
 
  • Conduct client/CAREGiverSM introductions as needed
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) visits with clients as needed
  • Participate in various PR strategies
     
    Critical Numbers:
  • Complete approximately 150 impressions per month
  • Obtain approximately 10 inquiries per month from referral providers as a direct result of sales activity
  • Obtain approximately 2 clients from referral providers as a direct results of Marketing/Networking Events  
  • Facilitate approximately 3 networking events each month
     
    Education/Experience Requirements:
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Related business or sales experience (consultative sales a plus)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work in the field, and be insurable.
 
Knowledge, skills and Abilities:
 
  • Must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by Sunflower Eldercare Services, (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise)
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills is essential as well as sound judgment and good decision-making

Service Coordinator (Senior Level)

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate Senior Level Service Coordinator to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

The Service Coordinator (Senior Level) is expected to perform a variety of duties in the coordination of scheduling service for clients. The Service Coordinator (Senior Level) is the primary coordinator and is responsible for scheduling a large number of clients and CAREGivers in order to provide the highest quality service to clients with emphasis on creating extraordinary relationships. The Service Coordinator (Senior Level) will also have the primary responsibility for the managing the:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reflect the values of Home Instead Senior Care.
  • Answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Create and maintain client and CAREGiver schedules with an emphasis on creating high quality matches and the development of extraordinary relationships.
  • Monitor, mediate, and log all client and CAREGiver activity utilizing the software system.
  • Follow up with all client and CAREGiver issues to ensure their problems are resolved.
  • Enter and maintain accurate client and CAREGiver records in the software system.
  • Increase client loyalty to Home Instead Senior Care by utilizing the consultative sales process to better meet our current client needs.
  • Follow up and communicate CAREGiver and client issues to ensure problems are resolved.
  • Design, test and implement a responsive contingency plan that ensures 100% maintenance of Service Hours.
  • Recognize and capture opportunities to increase service hours in scenarios to enhance and/or increase quality care.
  • Field new client inquiries over the phone in a knowledgeable manner, enter the information into the software system and work with team to communicate and prepare for the Care Consultation.
  • Conduct Service Inquiries and Care Consultations following the consultative sales process.
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with the franchise owner, colleagues, CAREGivers, clients and family members.
  • Manage CAREGiver’s overtime by keeping the overtime hours at or below the acceptable limits.
  • Some on-call for evenings and weekends are necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing, Health related, or Science related field is preferred.  Business Degrees also considered with experience in the Home Health Industry. 
  • Must have Five (5) years of related Home Health Industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

CAREGiver - On Call

This is primarily a CAREGiver position split between daytime, evening, overnight, or weekend “on-call” hours.  Some of the time will be spent “on-call” in the office during the day and other times at home during the evening ready to fill shifts that the regular CAREGivers were not able to fulfill.  The On-Call CAREGiver shift could be for any of our clients in Shawnee, Douglas, or Franklin Counties.  Travel to those counties or surrounding areas is required.  Some days are quiet, some are hectic.  It isn’t predictable.
