Home Instead Senior Care of Dayton is currently hiring part-time CAREGivers for shifts during the evening and weekend hours.  This is an excellent part-time opportunity to earn additional income for those who are students or have other full-time jobs. Pay ranges from $10-$14.75/hr depending on your availability and the type of client being cared for.  Additional raises are given based on performance and seniority.  The only requirements to be a CAREGiver are the ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and DMV check, be at least 21 years old, and possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Objective:

Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver On-Call/Relief Position provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes. This position will be available to cover short shifts or fill in shifts and flexible for any clients needs. Thisposition will be guaranteed 35 hours per week paid at the rate of $13.00, depending on the hours scheduled._ These services are meant to enhance the quality of life for seniors. Home Instead Senior Care CAREGivers help clients and their families meet the challenges of aging with dignity, pride, care and compassion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evening Position - Available Monday through Friday (every other weekend or every weekend). Shift is 3pm-11pm.
  • Starting 2 hours prior to availability, ability to respond to office calls within 15 minutes.
  • Starting 12 hours prior to their availability respond to office calls within 1-2 hours, unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • Ability during availability to arrive to cover shift within 60 minute.
  • Provide Companionship & Home Helper services which could include:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
  • Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
  • Providing medication reminders and appointment reminders
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
  • Washing and ironing laundry
  • Running errands
  • Accompanying clients to appointments
  • Provide Personal Care services which could include:
  • Assisting with bathing
  • Assisting with grooming
  • Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Provide Specialized services which could include:
  • Advanced Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care
  • Hospice Care

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift push or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to drive to work site locations and transport clients as needed
  • Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Ability to handle all levels of care
