Eric & Angela Thomas

Eric & Angela Thomas

Franchise Owners

Eric and Angela Thomas are the co-owners of several Home Instead Franchises, serving Dayton, Ohio as well as South Bend, Granger, Mishawaka, and surrounding Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan communities. Together, they lead a team focused on helping older adults remain safely and comfortably at home while supporting families through complex and often emotional care decisions. With more than 25 years of experience in senior care and community-based services, Eric and Angela have built strong relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, hospice providers, and senior living communities across Montgomery County, eight Indiana counties and four Michigan counties. Their work centers on creating continuity for families during times of transition, especially when care needs are changing quickly. Eric holds an MBA from St. Ambrose University and previously served as President and CEO of Stonehill Franciscan Services, where he led major growth initiatives in aging services. Angela brings a background in education and ministry, with a natural focus on communication, relationships, and supporting families in a way that feels personal and steady. Their approach is grounded in helping families navigate moments such as hospital discharges, dementia progression, and increasing care needs at home. They understand that many families begin exploring care during overwhelming situations, and their goal is to bring clarity, guidance, and a sense of reassurance to every step of the process.

Angie Balderson

Angie Balderson

General Manager

Angie joined the Home Instead team in June of 2014 after 16 years of experience in marketing. She decided to work at Home Instead because she wanted to do something that touched people's lives more deeply. There is such fulfillment in knowing at the end of the day she contributed somehow to increasing the quality of a life. She managed the care of her mother and father for 10 years and knows the importance of wanting the best care possible for those we love the most. Angie's 7 years at Home Instead included time in the Recruitment and Engagement department before transitioning to Client Care. This has given her a special relationship with both our Clients and Caregivers, providing a uniquely compassionate service to our community.
