"I am continually struck by the professionalism, high level of caring and exemplary caregivers that I have met from Home Instead. My mom couldn't live without them, and neither could I.

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I would do something that involved seniors. My passion for seniors came from listening to my grandparents tell stories and the struggles they faced. I guess, I am what you would call an "old soul".
I have over 25 years' experience in the health care industry. Home Instead has given me the opportunity to give back to my community. Every time I walk into a home or speak with a family on the phone, I know in my heart that this is the place for me. For me this is not a job. It is my passion. The best part about working here at Home Instead, is seeing the look of relief on client's and family's faces when we can help keep them in their home. There is nothing more gratifying.

Through my unexpected journey of taking care of my parents, I understand how hard it can be for families to find quality homecare. It has also sparked something inside me. I learned that I have passion for taking care of others. Working here at Home Instead, gives me the opportunity to help our seniors throughout our community. This is something that I hold close to my heart.
My reward is giving a caregiver the strength in self esteem, confidence and empowering them with education to care for Seniors in their homes, give quality of life, interact and understand their needs. Thank you caregivers for you're compassion in caring for others.

I have worked in the social services field for 17 plus years. As an alumnus of Northern Illinois University, the opportunity presented itself to work for an agency that cared for Adults with Developmental Disabilities in Genoa, Illinois. From there, I took the experience that I acquired and moved to Rockford to work for another wonderful agency in the field. I eventually desired a career change, which brought me to HISC. I started my experience as a caregiver with HISC and moved into my current position as a Service Coordinator, which I have held for 2 years.

I enjoy working at Home Instead because here we are a team. From the Office Staff to our Caregiver and Clients, everyone is treated like family. I love feeling like I am a part of an organization focused on helping improve the lives of people in my community.
It has been one of my many dreams to work in the Healthcare field. When I was a little girl I loved spending nights at my Grandmother's house, because she would tell me different stories about her life & the many things she has accomplished working in the nursing field. Since then I knew I would work within the Healthcare field whether it was a Doctor or a Social Worker. I've always knew how important it was to not only have a career but a career that I loved. I can honestly say I've found my place in the Healthcare field working with seniors & making differences in their lives every day. To take a quote from former first Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama " Success isn't about how much money you make it's about the difference you make in people's lives."
