Community and Public Relations Intern
Home Instead Senior Care is looking for an organized and insightful Community and PR Intern to join our team. This intern will help plan and execute our community service and outreach initiatives including the Walk To End Alzheimer’s and our Be A Santa To A Senior program. This position will report to our Human Resources Assistant. Home Instead Senior Care has served the Erie, PA, community for over 18 years, enabling seniors to age in place at home and changing the conversation on aging. The ideal candidate for this internship will be personable and communicative as well as have experience with coordinating events-- no matter the scarel.
Client Care Specialist - Home Instead Senior Care
Home Instead Senior Care is looking for an organized and insightful individual to join our team in serving seniors, who wish to age in place, and their families. This position requires someone who is personable, able to identify and understand the needs of others and take action, and quick to respond to the changing needs of clients. The Client Care Specialist role is responsible for managing multiple tasks at a time, must have excellent communication skills, and work well in a team environment. Most importantly, the Client Care Specialist is responsible for overseeing the client/CAREGiver relationships and ensuring quality of service.
The Client Care Specialist is responsible for any activities relating to client care including care consultations with potential clients and family members, matching clients with their ideal CAREGiver based on their needs, overseeing client/CAREGiver introductions, and following up on an ongoing basis with clients and their families to ensure quality of care and client/CAREGiver fit. This person will use a consultative sales approach to determine each client’s individual needs and create a service plan tailored to these needs. The Client Care Specialist will monitor this service plan and client needs through a series of ongoing communications with both the client and their family to ensure high-quality care, client satisfaction, and client retention. It’s pertinent that this person is also able to recognize and evaluate opportunities to increase service hours and further tailor the service plans as the client’s needs change or evolve.

Meet with potential clients and family members to discuss their needs and provide tailored solutions in the form of a service plan.
Conduct service inquiries and care consultations as needed.
Maintain communications and consistent follow-up schedule with potential clients.
Work with other team members to coordinate aspects of a client’s care.
Conduct client/CAREGiver introductions with new clients and CAREGivers.
Create and maintain an ongoing schedule for communications and quality assurance meetings with all clients and properly document all interactions. Minimum of one quality assurance visit per quarter, per client.
Recognize and pursue opportunities to modify service plans to best support the ongoing needs of clients through a quality assurance program and communications with CAREGivers.
Demonstrate open and effective communication with clients, family members, CAREGivers, team members and referral/care providers.
Resolve conflicts and challenges as they arise for clients and family members by working cooperatively with key team members, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring clients receive the services needed.
Maintain regular attendance and adhere to all company and state-mandated policies, procedures, and business ethic codes.
Participate as needed in all CAREGiver and team meetings.
Conduct educational sessions as needed.
Perform any additional functions deemed necessary.
Conduct initial client/CAREGiver introductions for new clients and team members.
Conduct QA visits— minimum one (1) visit per client, per quarter.
Conduct service inquiries with an average conversion rate of 50%.
Conduct care consultations with an average closing of 85%.
Education and Experience Requirements
College Degree - LPN or RN experience preferred
3-5 years of experience in senior-related industry and/or social work required. An equivalent number of education/work experience may be considered.
Knowledge of Consultative Sales preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Must be able to listen effectively and learn quickly.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, maintain confidentiality and discretion, and exercise sound judgement and strong decision-making skills.
Must demonstrate professionalism, patience, and integrity as well as uphold standards, policies, and procedures.
Must have professional appearance and demeanor.
Must have a knowledge of office equipment, computer skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
