Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

REGISTRATION ON THE HOME CARE AIDE REGISTRY, FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE, A STATEMENT OF PRIOR CRIMINAL CONVICTION, TB CLEARANCE AND TESTING FOR ILLEGAL DRUGS IN YOUR BODY IS ALSO REQUIRED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care
*No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead Senior Care*

Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance

Primary Responsibilities:

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • College graduate preferred.
  • One year of experience in home care, health care or senior-related industry a plus. One year of business experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass the Home Care Services Bureau registration and clearance process.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively and problem-solve.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, business development skills, as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Must be patient and congenial on the telephone
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel

The Marin County, CA office of Home Instead Senior Care is looking for an energetic, individual with strong interpersonal skills, computer competence, organization skills, and attention to detail.  

As a staffing coordinator you will arrange and monitor placement of CAREgivers with Clients in their homes and facilities. You will work with a team to match our clients with the right CAREgivers to ensure that satisfaction of our Clients and the success of our CAREgivers. The work you do makes a difference in the quality of care we deliver and the quality of life for our Clients.

We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, pragmatic, possesses analytical skills, has stress management skills, has a high level of integrity, strives for excellence, has good  judgement and decision making skills, organizes and plans well, good oral communication, actively listens, exhibits persuasiveness, is client focused and has good energy and passion for the job they do! PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner 
Coordinate CAREgiver schedules on a daily basis
Monitor, mediate, and log both client and CAREgiver activity  and follow up on CAREgiver assignments and client service
Coordinate and maintain monthly client schedule in database
Enter and maintain  accurate client and CAREgiver records in database  
Reconcile all shifts for payroll and billing processing
Assist in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, and disciplining CAREgivers  
Approve/deny and track all CAREgiver Time Off Requests
Maintain regular attendance the office to execute job responsibilities
Demonstrate open and effective communications with owner, colleagues, and CAREgivers
Mediate with families and CAREgivers if conflicts arise
Conduct Introductions as needed
Participate in CAREgiver meetings
Organize and maintain a recruitment and retention award program for CAREgivers
Assist the staff in the handling of on call phone activities during the evenings and weekends
