Care Giver

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team on a special project to help reduce hospital re-admissions.  We are looking for dedicated, experienced CAREGivers to be a part of this exciting project.


Area:  Chester, Chesterfield, far southside
Shifts:  4 hour shift minimums – the times will vary but CAREGivers will have the opportunity to pick up more than one client in this program to get more hours. 

Transportation:  Transportation for these clients is required – doctor appointments, errands, etc.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Personal care – Grooming, bathing, toileting, assistance with incontinence issues
  • Meal prep/Monitor diet – prepare healthy meals in accordance with client dietary needs
  • Housekeeping and laundry – help create and maintain a clean and sanitary environment  in the client’s home
  • Nutrition – helping read labels and keep to low sodium/low cholesterol diets
  • Weight monitoring
  • Assistance and reminders to make follow up doctor appointments and help client keep appointments
  • Medication reminders – ensure that clients take their medication and also call in refills
  • Help clients find primary care physicians and learn to call doctor or use urgent care as opposed to ER. 
  • Exercise or stretching as needed
  • Keep very detailed records of client care at both the residence and on Home Instead Logs 
  • Review discharge instructions from hospital with client and track that they are being followed


Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • All CAREGivers must have a valid driver's license
  • Must own their own vehicle and have valid auto insurance
  • Previous care giving experience (CNA, LPN a plus)

Registered Nurse, Part-Time

North American Care Services, Inc. d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care will employ a Registered Nurse. This individual will be a registered nurse who is currently licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing to supervise the provision of personal care and in “good standing”. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations. The duties of the Registered Nurse will include:

Client Visits: $30 Travel Time: $15/hr Training Hours: $25/hr Office/Admin Time: $15/hr

RN will have use of HISC vehicle for going on client visits.

  • Performing an in-home service call evaluation of any clients requiring personal care services.
  • Develop a written plan of care in collaboration with the client and client’s family (if possible) based the service call evaluation.
  • Initiating the client’s plan of care in accordance with personal care needs specified in the written plan of services.
  • Reevaluating the client’s personal care needs at least every 90 days.
  • Preparing and coordinating clinical notes and progress notes on personal care services delivered.
  • In-home supervisory visits will be made when the qualified CAREGiver or other qualified staff support person is present and is delivering services to the client.
  • Reporting changes in the client’s medical or mental condition to organization employees involved in the client’s care or other appropriate medical personnel.
  • Teaching or supervising the teaching of household members who are responsible for assisting the client with his or her personal care needs.
  • Conducting or supervising the orientation, training, and/or competency testing of organization employees assigned to the personal care service.
  • Teach Personal Care Training and Scope Expansion Training as set up by North American Care Services, Inc., d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care at both offices.
  • As needed, perform Quality Assurance visits or phone calls with clients.


Clients are located in different areas throughout the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and metro Richmond.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • This position must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by T & T Enterprise, (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise)
  • This position must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • This position must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills essential as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly and yearly work
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with management, colleagues, clients and CAREGivers
  • Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Must be patient and congenial on the telephone
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel

Education/Experience Requirements:

    • Active RN license
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Must pass background and drug screenings

 

Critical Numbers:

  • Maintain scheduled routine of clients/visits/updated POC’s 100%
  • See all Personal Services clients every 90 days
  • Maintain 100% open communication with families and office
  • Treat every single call (when you contact client, CG, other) to highest level of customer service 100%

Part-Time Bookkeeping

Job Details

The Part-Time Bookkeeper is expected to perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties, including: answering phones, billing, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, support other staff members, assist with taking service inquiries and provide the highest quality service to our clients and CAREGivers.

 

Hours: Approximately 8:30a – 1:30p Mon-Fri                                     Pay is Hourly: $15/hour

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Reflect the core values of North American Care Services, Inc. (dba an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).
  • Maintain all Accounts Receivable per the written policy
  • Handle office responsibilities
  • Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Field new client inquiries over the phone in a knowledgeable manner and schedule Care Consultations when able
  • Assist with hiring process of new CAREGivers (adding new hires to Payroll)
  • Handle billing process/invoicing clients
  • Handle CAREGiver and Admin payroll
  • Help enter new CAREGivers into ClearCare and help maintain accurate records in ClearCare
  • Print care logs weekly for personal care clients and file
  • Communicate client and CAREGiver concerns or problems with Director of Operations or other staff members as appropriate
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with owner, colleagues and CAREGivers

 

 

Secondary Responsibilities

 

  • Assist other team members with miscellaneous duties
  • Field employment inquiries from prospective CAREGivers and arrange for application process as needed
  • Participate in CAREGiver meetings
  • Perform any and all other functions and responsibilities deemed necessary

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements

 

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Three years of QuickBooks experience and related business experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered (QuickBooks experience is required)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
