As our Office Manager, Sharon dedicates much of her time to billing and payroll. Sharon joined us in 2012 after having worked with the Naples, FL Home Instead office for six years. She served as their Staff Coordinator and continues to "Live Home Instead" every day here in beautiful Asheville. Her husband Don retired from the police department and they moved to be nearer family in Cashiers. Sharon's passion for seniors came from a lifelong compassion for people and her experiences in a family hair salon. In their business, Sharon received many elder clients and developed relationships that were touchstones for what was to come. Leading her to Home Instead Senior Care, her heart was in the sharing of stories and values. Here in the mountains she enjoys driving the parkway, spending time with her family, and exploring the healing opportunities that our community offers. She is a lover of ladybugs, wears her heart on her sleeve, and is exceptionally grateful for her blessed life.
As one of our two Staff Coordinators, Terri has always had a place in her heart for seniors. She loves to hear the recollections of the "good ol' days" and was close with both sets of her grandparents. Growing up she took trips from Kentucky almost every weekend to see them in Cincinnati. She worked in the hotel industry where she built a dedication for quality service and professionalism. She became a stay-at-home mother of five. She found Home Instead Senior Care through a church friend and decided to come to work as a CAREGiver in 2012. She has been thankful ever since, as she commits to Living Home Instead. Her excellence in her journey with us has led her into the office, first as Administrative Assistant and now as Staff Coordinator. Terri is personable, fun-loving, and intuitive. She has a heartfelt understanding of the needs of seniors and the experience to reinforce her ability to make excellent CAREGiver/client matches. Terri understands leading with her heart and finds a connection with all whom she comes in contact with. She is also an On-Call Supervisor.
Carly screens all applicants, facilitates our onboarding process and ensures that each candidate is thoroughly trained in our world-class training program. Her duties include ensuring that our selection process meets the highest standards for hiring, training, and development of our professional CAREGivers. Born and raised in the foothills of the NC mountains, Carly moved to Asheville in 2010 to attend UNC-Asheville as a Psychology major. She grew up with very close relationships to her grandparents and, subsequently, developed great respect for the senior population from a very young age. Her grandparents' needs led her to advance her knowledge in diabetes, cancer, and advanced stroke care. Knowing that she would love to do everything in her power to fulfill her own mission to enhance the lives of elders in service, she chose to complete and internship at a local Adult Day center. The experience led her down the path of caregiving and provided her with intimate knowledge of seniors and, specifically, dementia care. She was hired as a full-time employee after her internship was over, graduated wither her BA in Psychology, and advanced her career with Home Instead Senior Care. She is eternally grateful for her part in our Home Instead family and the growth personally and professionally she continues to experience in working with older adults during their legacy years.
Judith joined our team in January 2018 as our RN Supervisor & Personal Care Client Care Coordinator. She obtained her initial training at Duke University Medical Center and continued at the University of New Hampshire. Judith has been working in healthcare for almost 30 years, with previous positions held at Duke Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center and at Concord Hospital in NH. Lucky for us, for the last 15 years Judith has concentrated her nursing efforts and passion on home care as part of the healthcare continuum. Judith also has excellent proficiency and experience educating the community and supporting the needs of people living with Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias.
Judith visits with each of our Personal Care clients to assess and determine the level of hands-on assistance that may be required (ADL support). She also trains and supervises our In-Home Aides & CNAs for their skills, competencies, and regular performance. She creates tailored Care Plans with each client so that their personal goals are respectfully incorporated into their daily routines and updated as often as needed.
Personally, Judith and her family enjoy organic gardening, creative cooking and hiking.
