​Kenneth Tak joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2016 after being in the health care field for over a decade as the Director of Finance and Operations for a nationally recognized fertility clinic in the Bay Area. Kenneth earned his BS in finance, another BS in computer information systems, and a Master of Health Administration. He brings over 25 years of finance, business management, IT and health care management experience to our community. Joining and living Home Instead is very personal for Kenneth having lost loved ones to cancer in recent years. He feels that how a person lives out the final stages of life is just as important as how they lived the beginning stages of their life. He found that the services Home Instead Senior Care provides is essential and vital to providing the independence, honor, dignity and respect that each and every one of our seniors deserve. His role as president of this franchise allows him to lead a team who shares his vision and passion to make this a reality. 


Aireen Strong, Director of Operations

Aireen Strong, Director of Operations
Aireen started her career 20 years ago, serving the senior community as a caregiver. She has years of experience being an Activity Coordinator for a senior day program, a Program Coordinator at low income senior housing facility, and a Staffing Coordinator for a non-profit home care agency. Aireen started working for Home Instead in 2009 as a Staffing Coordinator. She worked and learned the industry from the ground up. She is currently the Director of Operations at Home Instead Senior Care where she works overseeing and troubleshooting day to day office and field operations. After starting work with Home Instead, she realized her true calling is to provide excellent service to seniors in our community. Her long experience in the field of senior care paired with her problem-solving skills and compassionate nature made Aireen an ideal advocate for clients as well as caregivers. Aireen enjoys cooking, walks on the beach, spending time with family and friends and watching home improvement and cooking TV shows.

Mark Candalla, Staffing Coordinator

Mark has an Associate's degree in Computer Networking. He joined the Home Instead team in 2010 as a Staffing Coordinator. Mark enjoys interacting with the caregivers and making sure they are comfortable in their workplace. He schedules the staff and makes sure there are no unassigned shifts. Working with and helping the seniors within the community makes being a part of Home Instead a satisfying experience for Mark.​


Tami Sohn, Recruitment Coordinator

Tami Sohn, Recruitment Coordinator

​Having recently joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in San Jose, Tami brings many years of experience from being a customer service manager at one of the largest computer companies in the world. Her finely honed interpersonal skills enable her to achieve her goals of being helpful and understanding to both clients and caregivers alike. Furthermore, Tami brings a spirit of determination to recruit the very best caregivers that truly have a caring heart. Tami is also fluent in speaking Korean and an active member within the Asian community in the San Jose area. Tami enjoys playing golf in her spare time and although she admits to being a novice golfer who's lost quite a few balls in her time, Tami's spirit of determination will never stop improving!


Denise Marconi, Engagement Coordinator

Denise joined Home Instead in 2009 as a caregiver before becoming the Engagement Coordinator for the office. She is involved in recruiting great caregivers and making sure that they have the training and support they need to be successful. However, she finds one of the most important parts of her job to be counseling and coaching the caregivers and calling them daily to make sure they are aware that they have support and help whenever needed. Denise strives to provide understanding, passion and heart with excellent service to seniors and others. Denise feels a personal connection to senior care because, after taking her father in when he fell ill and caring for him until he passed away, she realized that there was little to no support and care for seniors. Before he passed away, Denise made a promise to her father to find a way to advocate for the seniors who were too often falling by the wayside, which she is fulfilling by working with Home Instead Senior Care.
