Stephen Lair is the franchise owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Chapel Hill. He was selected as a member of the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in 2009 and has been twice chosen as one of WCHL's Hometown Hero Village Pride Award recipients. As an Eagle Scout, Stephen has always had a passion for the great outdoors and is heavily involved as a leader with the local Boy Scouts of America. Stephen participates with the National Parkinson's Foundation as the perennial host of its annual Moving Day event. Each year, he coordinates several different community service campaigns such as Mission Medicine, Salute To Senior Service and Be A Santa To A Senior. Stephen is also a highly sought after speaker, singer and host of regional events. As a local expert on aging, Stephen has made appearances on Time Warner Cable News, WCHL, UNCTV, WNCN, WCHL and iHeartradio. Stephen and his wife made national news last year when the video of their gender reveal party went viral. Their story was featured on Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, The Today Show, CNN and Inside Edition to name a few. The front page story which recounted the events in the News and Observer was the third most circulated story of 2015 and the most clicked online content in the history of all McClatchy news markets. The hubbub from the video eventually landed them a guest spot on the Ellen Show in April of 2015. They have seven remarkable children: Jackson, Campbell, Sawyer, Houston, Shepherd, Knox and Ruby.
The Director of Client Care is the logistical hub of our company operations. in this role, Melinda oversees the task management of our daily hiring, training, retention and scheduling efforts. Additionally, the DCC serves as the communications hub between our office staff and caregivers. If Home Instead Senior Care were a symphony, Melinda would be the conductor. Melinda's professional experience includes working as a life enrichment coordinator for a local senior living community as well as serving as a site manager for a local low income senior living community. In addition to her more than 20 years of experience working with seniors, Melinda has an associated degree in Human Services from Corning Community College. She has a true passion for seniors and assisting them in every way possible.
The Director of Client Relations is the touchpoint between Home Instead Senior Care and our clients. In this role, Lenore handles the intake of new clients, provides critical input and direction regarding all aspects of their care and oversees our quality assurance programs. Originally from Louisville, Lenore earned a BS in Sports Medicine and Health Sciences from Guilford College in Greensboro. The company motto, "To us, it's personal," is especially true for Lenore as she helped care for her father and watched her mother care for her grandparents for years. She knows that our CAREGivers have the ability to be tremendous blessings to our clients and works hard to give everyone the best experience possible. In her freetime, Lenore enjoys travelling, photography and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
The Director of Business Relations carries our message of hope to the community we serve. In this role, Jen works to put our company's heart on display in everything that we do. She coordinates partnerships with local doctors, nurses, social workers, administrators and various other members of the Chapel Hill community. She is also responsible for developing our monthly service themes which give structure and purpose to the time our caregivers spend with our clients.
The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for makling sure that our weekend caregivers and clients receive the support they need. If a need arises on a weekend, Jazmine is able to help. Jazmine began her journey with us as a caregiver and works to make sure she never strays too far from the compassionate work that drew her to Home Instead Senior Care in the first place.
Mandy serves as the Nurse Supervisor
for Home Instead Senior Care of Chapel Hill.
With a primary responsibility of educator, she makes certain that our
CAREGivers are set up with the skills and tools they need to be
successful through training in our classroom-style training facility.
nursing supervisor, she is also responsible for overseeing personal plans of
care and implementation for client safety.
Mandy is very passionate about excellent healthcare and desires for our
team members, clients and family members to work together to give the excellent
care that all of our family members deserve. She is a graduate of Watts School
of Nursing and has more than a decade of clinical experience in the triangle
area. Mandy is a lifelong resident of
Durham, where she currently lives with her husband, Jeff, and 3 kids, Tyler
(19), Karsyn (16), and Jordyn (8).
