Franklin December 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Rene
Our December 2021 Professional Caregiver of the Month is Rene. In May of 2017, after 28 years, Rene retired from a career in marketing with a global corporation headquartered in Nashville. At that time, she knew she wanted to do something to give back after spending so many hectic years in a professional role. And since she had experience caring for her aging mother, Home Instead is where she landed to start her journey as a Professional Caregiver.
Rene shows her heart on her sleeve. She always does the right thing and makes sure she trats her client exactly the way she treated her mom. Rene and her husband are involved in their local church, serving God is at the top of her list. She loves to read and study, researching favorite or unknown topics. Rene has an extensive library and love all the books! She also takes great joy in renovating and interior design.
A few of Rene’s favorite things include the TV shows Blue Bloods and Heartland. She really enjoys listening to Contemporary Christian music. Her favorite quote is “What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning and all you had is what you thanked God for yesterday?” She has three children and four grandchildren whom she loves dearly. One of her grandsons has lived with her since he was born, along with his mother. He’s 13 years old and Rene has just begun to homeschool him. She says eighth grade is not the easiest place to start, but they are learning to do it together. He attends a professional dance academy here in the Franklin area and competes nationally each year, specializing in hip hop and contemporary dance. Much of her time goes to him with all the activity and travel that accompanies his sport. Rene says “family is very important and we nurture and support them all.” One of her administrators said, “In my opinion Rene is the type of person that strives for excellence so you know you can always count on her to be the best of the best!”
