Founded in 1994, Home Instead has helped older adults around the world age safely and with dignity at home, using a time-tested approach built on connection and compassion.
After serious neck surgery over a year ago, more complicated by her MS, my sister finally left rehab for home. The caregivers from Home Instead were introduced to her one by one as the hours we needed for her care were increased. They adapted quickly to Beth's idiosyncrasies, food preferences, television shows, and daily habits. After she became wheelchair bound, the care was more physical, beyond my ability, and they often had suggestions as to how to help her more easily. Responsibilities with her cat and dishes and laundry and house cleaning became part of their routine each day. Tonya, Jeana, Ivaneri, and Noel, we are forever grateful to you for making this year and her last days as comfortable as possible.
This is our second time trying in-home assistance for our family. This is our first time with Home Instead. Carolyn was prompt, kind, professional, and helped tremendously. The helped she offered goes above and beyond and I can’t thank her enough for what she has done for us and this is just day 1. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What a blessing you have been already
I want to say that Home Instead was so helpful to me during my Mom's illness. She had wanted to be at home for the end of her life and the care that she was given was excellent. Dawn was wonderful. I would come in and she had changed Mom's clothes, diaper, and cleaned her up so nicely. I felt comfortable leaving with Dawn there. I would highly recommend the Muncie Home Instead to anyone who needs care for an aging parent . - Debbie Parker
Our mother was in the final stages of alzheimers. Me and my 2 brothers were trying to do this journey with mom at home. We needed help so we looked into home caregivers and after much research chose this company. From the start they appeared to care a great deal about the care of mom. Mary was such a huge support, there was some caregivers we were not comfortable with and she took care of every concern right away. She worked with us till we were comfortable and knew exactly what we needed. As our journey progressed we needed more assistance and Mary was there to help. We finally ended with Tonya full time. We could not have done this for mom without the help of this company and Tonya. Our mom passed on 02/22/24 Thank you Steve, Mary and Tonya❤️ The Luzadder family
We started using Home Instead for our Mother who has dementia. We are very happy with their service & care they gave her. Her care giver, LaToya, was wonderful. We thought the world of her. Our Mother liked having her company. She cooked, cleaned & helped Mom with her dog. She was a very sweet & calming person. Everyone from the administration staff was very kind, caring and kept us updated on all changes that was needed. Our Mother was recently admitted to a fulltime care facility but I would use Home Instead again. We worked with the company out of Muncie, Indiana.

At Home Instead, we've helped families recognize those signs and build a care plan that supports independence—not takes it away.
Here are some common signs it might be time to consider in-home care:
The good news? Help doesn't have to mean moving out. Our Care Pros help older adults stay safe and supported right in their own homes.
Want help starting the conversation? Download our What's Next Toolkit for tips, checklists, and conversation starters that make these discussions easier.
Still unsure? A care consultation is a great place to start. We'll listen, answer your questions, and help you explore your options—with no pressure or obligation.
Here's when home care might be the right step:
Home Instead Care Pros provide support that fits your routine—not the other way around. Whether it's meal prep, a walk, or help getting to appointments, our care is designed to enhance—not replace—your role.
You don't have to wait for a crisis. Most families who start care with us say they wish they had done it sooner.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer—but if your loved one wants to stay in their own home, in-home care can be the most personal, flexible, and reassuring option.
In-home care vs. assisted living
Assisted living can be great for those who want a communal setting and are ready to relocate. But if your loved one wants to stay at home, in-home care offers:
In-home care vs. hiring a private caregiver
Hiring an independent caregiver can seem less expensive—but it comes with risk. As the employer, you'd be responsible for payroll, insurance, and coverage when they can't show up.
With Home Instead, we handle everything:
In-home care is all about helping your loved one stay independent, comfortable, and safe—right in the place they know and love. From simple companionship to specialized dementia support, our Care Pros are here to help make life easier.
It's care on your terms. Ready to get started?
At Home Instead, we don't just send a caregiver—we introduce you to a Care Pro. It's a title we take seriously, because our team members bring more than just help—they bring heart, consistency, and respect for the life your loved one has built.
