Meet Our Team

Casey Tusa Summey is proud to be a fourth generation Wacoan. Casey graduated from Waco High School and Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Health Education. 

All four of Casey‘s grandparents spent their latter years receiving care here, in Waco. Watching those experiences, and feeling a deep connection to this community, are some of the reasons that Casey is committed to providing the best care for Waco families. Casey spends most of her day working with families or community partners, constantly working to enhance local care.

Casey has been battling chronic pain from psoriatic arthritis since she was 20-years-old. She knows unequivocally that often we deal with health challenges that go unseen. Part of why Casey chooses Home Instead is because she knows deeply their commitment to gift individuals and families with high quality care, intentional care. She wants to empower people with chronic pains and illnesses by providing care in ways that will help them get the most out of every day.

Casey loves to spend her free time with her parents Johnny and Dollyn Tusa, as well as her husband Lance and their son. She is on the board of several local community organizations, including the executive committee of the local Alzheimer’s Association.

Lance Summey originally came to Waco for graduate school at Baylor University. After completing a Masters of Social Work, he worked in India and Thailand, and then returned to Waco to be closer to his mother who was battling breast cancer at the time.

Lance grew up in a home where the care of others was always discussed. He knows the deep need felt as a consumer needing access to quality care, and the weight of responsibilities of being a provider. He can remember visits to facilitates and family discussions regarding his grandmother who had Multiple Sclerosis. Seeing, feeling and knowing the difference between ‘care’ and ‘quality care’ was something he will never forget. Lance chooses Home Instead because he values what they bring to clients, CAREPros and families. He loves gifting clients, staff and families with the resources and benefits that come with being the largest home care provider network in the world. From operational and care standards, to educational resources and best practices, to back office technologies…in a world where anyone can say they provide care, Lance loves being able to personally connect families with all that Home Instead offers. Additionally, Lance is a certified End of Life Doula.

Lance loves to spend time with his family and working at their recreational property in Bosque County. He coaches youth sports and is on the board of several local organizations.
