Our Caring Star Award Winner for March is.... Theresa Thompson!
We wanted to congratulate Theresa for this win with a special note from Home Instead 627 owner, Brad Snively:
"This month's Caring Star Award goes to one of the most exceptional Care Professional's our staff will ever know. Home Instead was blessed to have Theresa Thompson join our team in April of 2019.
As the owner, I remember her with her fashionable glasses and her desire to care. She instantly bonded with our staff and had a knack of making you feel a little better about yourself whenever you met her. Theresa has served many seniors during this time, but it was her ability to bond and never quit with two of our most challenging clients that really stands out.
While Home Instead has a culture of care, it's the diversity of care that makes Theresa a true passionate caring professional. In May of 2019, we introduced her to Dr. P, a University Professor diagnosed with a horrible disease. His care was very challenging, both emotionally and physically. Many care providers did not feel comfortable with his care needs.
Theresa thrived with the family and at difficult times, Dr. P's wife would let us know how grateful she was to have her. In June of 2020, we introduced her to a very different type of client. While the situation was similar with providers not wanting to go back, it was a completely different challenge. Theresa would be serving a very young Veteran that tragically experienced an accident that left her paralyzed.
While many other care providers did not feel comfortable, Theresa took on this challenge and has provided this Veteran on-going care to this day! Theresa is the real deal; she is passionate, sincere and has an innate sense of knowing what to do even before her clients need it. She not only has touched her clients, but has touched the families of the clients and the staff at Home Instead.
